From the moment we met Russ, we knew we had picked the right caterer for our wedding. Our first meeting was for our scheduled tasting at the Bellingham Farmer’s Market. When we arrived, Russ invited us to sit down and try 2 different types of pizza. He also let us sample a new appetizer he was working on. The food was incredible! He encouraged us to stay as long as we liked and checked in with us periodically to see if we had questions. Russ was a pleasure to work with throughout the wedding planning process. He happily accommodated all our dietary requests. He provided gluten-free and vegan pizza at very reasonable prices. He was also willing to serve the dressing and croutons for the salad on the side. It was easy to communicate with Russ via email. He responded quickly and cheerfully answered all our questions. All our guests raved about the food. They loved the caprese salad skewers and the stuffed peppers that we had for appetizers. We chose a 4-flavor pizza package with caesar salad for dinner. Our guests were very pleased with the selection, quality and amount of food. A few weeks before the wedding Russ asked my husband and I to choose our favorite flavor of pizza. We were pleasantly surprised to find to a personal, heart shaped pizza waiting for us at our sweetheart table when we sat down for dinner. It was delicious! After the dinner service was done, Russ and his crew put out extra pizzas so our guests could continue to eat throughout the night. He even provided pizza boxes. Many guests were thrilled to take some pizza home with them. My husband and I snagged a couple boxes on our way out; even served cold the pizza was delicious. I couldn’t imagine having a better caterer for our wedding. Russ and his team are an incredible group of people. They are very kind, helpful and passionate about what they do. That passion really shows in their food. I highly recommend using Gusto Wood Fire Pizza to cater your next event. It will make it one to remember!

Read moreOur first time ordering Gusto Woodfired Pizza and given all the great Google reviews, we were looking forward to it.
When we ordered over the phone, the lady said it would be ready to pick up in 10. Husband drives down 10 minutes later & the pizza hasn't even been put in the oven. So he had to wait for 10 minutes. When the pizzas came out & were boxed, they suddenly remembered the garlic bread so my husband had to wait even longer for that to cook. Little wonder there was no heat in the pizza when we went to eat it.
When I flipped the pizza box open at home, I think my first words were, 'They've got to be kidding!' It was the thinnest pizza base I'd ever seen. You would expect that it would be cooked through and crisp given how thin it was, however, it was all floppy and rather soggy. There were next to no toppings on the pizzas. These were Meat Lovers & Supreme pizzas so we expected a lot more on top, especially when they're called 'gourmet' pizzas. Very misleading. Nothing gourmet about them. At $23.50 per pizza, these were seriously overpriced. These pizzas reminded me of the cheap, frozen pizzas in supermarkets only thinner and with fewer toppings. Flavour? Nearly non existent on the Meat Lovers - very bland. The Supreme - while I knew it had chilli on it, was expecting it to be evenly spread across the pizza. No, it was so concentrated in a couple of spots that it killed any flavour the pizza otherwise may have had. It also resulted in a very bad case of indigestion overnight.
There are many good pizza stores around - unfortunately, this is not one of them. Extremely disappointed & will not...
Read moreThis review is based on four times of ordering pizza and pasta at this pizzeria. I have had two pizza shops in my lifetime winning three awards for best pizza in all of Mornington peninsula which have hundreds of pizzerias through the Menulog yearly competition. Firstly most people just don’t know much about pizza when reviewing so they just review based on their lack of knowledge and low standards as they know nothing better . My standards are very high when it comes to food . This place serves dough that has not even matured enough time and it has no crunch or fluffiness either . The cheese and sauce has no taste . The sauce needs some taste especially, it like straight from the can or something. Put some passion and time into your pizzas guys !! The carbonara was the worse we had in our lifetime , it was that bad . Such a shame these places exist but lucky for them people are just used to that standard of food . After giving this place a few chances we won’t go back again ....
