I remember when this place was a run down milkbar back in the 1994. I got taken there by a friend and was looking forward to the newly revamped version. Gosh I was disappointed. The food is so-so, the service is awful and the atmosphere . . . if I could have a minus five I would attribute that to them. Admittedly we sat inside. The noise level bouncing off all the vogue hard services made it impossible to hear my companion. The menu was confusing and overpriced. The service was rude. The food was awful, especially if like me you happen to be celiac and opt for gluten free bread. I could not believe the cardboard they served as gluten free bread at a hefty extra cost. Seriously? With so many amazing options around you served up cardboard? People must have money burning a hole in their pockets to fork out $$$ for tiny portions of bad food at inflated prices. The service came with barely disguised condescension - what? you want "hot" water? . . . With so many wonderful options, this place would be on the bottom of my list and I will...

My zucchini fritters plated on a vibrant bed of greens amid dollops of beetroot tzatziki was seriously delicious (the poached egg is a good add too). My best friend's craving for a breakfast of all the basics (tomato, avocado, eggs, toast) was satisfied by their a la carte offerings and coffee, tea, and a babycino were all declared beyond satisfactory. People of Albert Park - I implore you! Find some space in your mornings to visit Halcyon Days. You're lucky to have something like it in the...
Read moreSo awesome to have a new coffee spot with great food offerings in the Albert Park area. The crew are so friendly and the food menu offers such a nice variety of "standard favourites" and thoughtful interesting dishes.
Coffee is great and the fitout and decor they've created just allows for a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere on even the busiest of days. Take note people of Albert Park, Middle Park and surrounds. There's a new kid on the block, and they're worth a visit!
And in my opinion they're COMFORTABLY better than any of the other offerings available in the...
