Journalist here - hey Google, why can I SEE the review when I log in, but NO ONE ELSE CAN SEE IT? Is google recieving MONEY to hide bad reviews?....CAFE SAID THEY HAD A BATHROOM BUT THEY DIDNT- THEN CALLED SECURITY ON ME WHEN I COMPLAINED. DETAILS: I was going for a very important job interview so I needed a place to relax and freshen up. I asked if they had a bathroom and one of three staff members behind the counter told me I could use the bathroom of the hospital (directly behind) that the Cafe is attached to. He said it within the hearing of the others. I ordered a coffee immediately because I only had 20 minutes. With mask on, I walked in to the hospital foyer, after having to check in using the QR code on the sign out front. The front security desk told me plainly they don't let anyone in for that purpose. I would have to use the bathrooms 200 M down the road. It was obviously a long-standing thing. I had been misled! I was obviously angered by this and I confronted him about it. I didn't raise my voice but I was pretty direct. Why did he mislead me, I asked? I'm trying to freshen up for an important job interview. Next thing I see, within SECONDS: they've called HOSPITAL SECURITY on me! Two guards show up. So: the cafe knows you can't actually use the hospital's bathroom, but they're happy to use the hospital's security on customers! Clearly they're used to calling security - for...
Read moreIsabella Cafe & Grill Outstanding service, quality food and awesome coffee! What a great discovery this cafe is if youâre ever in or around the Royal Melbourne Hospital. A group of us have dined and stopped in for coffees here in the past two or three days while visiting a friend in hospital, and it feels like a breath of fresh air each time. Better coffees, I canât recall. Friendlier service, Iâve seldom experienced. I really rate this place!! And the food selection is terrific as well! You can choose from the mouthwatering selection from the cabinet, or order from the menu. The presentation is first class and prices are quite reasonable. For lunch today, we had a soup of the day - pumpkin and rosemary, served with a slice of sour dough, which was truly delish, and we shared a Roast Vegetable Focaccia, which just had the loveliest flavours. Also shared was a buttermilk chicken burger with perinaise sauce, on charcoal buns - outstanding! Cannot recommend Isabellaâs high enough, and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff is an absolute credit to you...
Read moreIdeally located right at the Entrance to the Royal Women's Hospital, Isabella Cafe and Grill offers a broad variety of Bagels and Såndwiches, cakes, Coffees and more. Staff are friendly and service is fast. There is also plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. Visited today after another one of many Hospital Visits and decided to give Isabella's Cafe and Grill a try. Ordered a Cappuccino and a Sunset Boulevard Bagel. The Verdict : The Bagel and its ingredients were delicious, only downside was that the Bagel seemed a bit too, cold, dry and hard for my liking (Not that it was rock hard, but it wasn't as soft as I expected it to be). Being a fair minded reviewer I give it the benefit of the doubt that perhaps I'm being fussy (maybe), but overall the ingredients made up and saved the day as they were deliciously prepared. So for if ever you happen to be around the Hospital Prescint and feel like a bite or too, Isabella's Cafe and Grill is the place to go to, the sheer volume of patrons coming and going is a good...
