Worse service ever. The owner/manager needs a lesson in customer service. Seems to think a 30 mins wait is acceptable and to have an attitude. Could not wait any longer, had to go without order. 30 mins in and could not see food being ready anytime soon. I’m sure the food is good given how popular they are when I went. Ordered hainan chicken and crispy chicken for take away. Noticed 2 patrons who came after me had got their order. Asked first time how long is my order, owner said it shouldn’t be long. Noticed a 3rd person who came after me got her order. Asked the lady to check where my order is (waited 20 mins. This ladies order is 68, I’m 66). Comes back and said it’s being cooked but I will tell the chef you’re in a hurry (no problem). Starting to think they’ve just forgotten my order and putting it through now. 4th person gets their order. Asked the owner, how much longer as I’ve been waiting 30 mins, understand you’re busy but a wait this long should have been notified upon order. He comes back with it’s your crispy chicken, if you want raw chicken you’ll have to wait and says I have not waited 30 mins. Clearly, I have. Ordered at 12:45, yet no food insight at 1:15pm.
A better response would’ve been. It will be a 30+ minute wait as it is very busy, are you ok with this? Or and even better response “it appears there has been a mix up and the order was not out through in time, it’s being put through now and will be another 15 minutes to ensure the chicken is cooked thoroughly, we’re sorry for the...
Read moreThe Rice Cooker in Melbourne is a gem we frequent regularly, and it never fails to impress! Their mie goreng, char kway teow, and Singapore noodles are absolutely to die for. Each dish is bursting with authentic flavours that transport you straight to Southeast Asia.
The mie goreng is a perfect blend of savory and spicy, with perfectly cooked noodles and a generous portion of vegetables and protein. The char kway teow is rich and smoky, capturing the essence of street food with its delightful combination of textures and flavours. The Singapore noodles are equally fantastic, with a subtle curry taste that’s both comforting and exciting.

Read moreI went to this place as a new student in Australia back in August 2018. I've heard so much about chicken ribs so I decided to go to this restaurant and order some. The dish was cheap which was nice since I had limited amount of money, but as I sat down and started to eat, some of the wait staff started to give me weird looks. Now, I was new here so I thought maybe I'm eating them in a wrong way (I was trying to eat with a knife and fork), so I stared to eat them with hands. But the looks continued and I started to feel like I'm unwelcome here or maybe like I'm a peasant in a rich mans house. The food was nice but the feeling that I got was not nice. Maybe it was because of how I look or how I was dress or maybe something else. I will never ever go back to this restaurant, not even if they start offering free...
