Kaiyo Sushi — Restaurant in Melbourne

Probably one of the best sushi l have tried in the area. I moved to the area the past year and was hesitant to buy, used to order around the surrounding area and was always disappointed until l tried my area. Delicious, fresh, you can understand the grain of rice in your mouth, not just mush which l have experienced with other shops since l moved. Owner, although when you pass by, you might think he is strict, l will say, never judge a book by its cover....fantastic and outgoing personality! The only minus, there is no made to order family sushi platters like a big platter of different combinations of maki sushi for the family, just the normal sushi boxes but, doesnt matter, we make and do and definately its my sushi shop and wont change it for any other. 5...

I bought 2 x sushi for my daughter a single sushi was $4.30 so the actual cost was $8.60. I fid not have cash so paid with debit card and I was charged $10.03. When I asked why did you charge me $1.43 extra he told theres a 10% surcharge and a 1.64% charge. But still it dont add up and rather giving a proper reason this guy was extremely rude. As I had my daughter I could not treat him with his rudeness so be aware going there he will rip you off if paid by card and expect the smile to change like that when you question his robbery and he go...

Thought I'd try this place after reading all these good reviews but my experience was not good. Bough a Sushi roll and a seaweed pocket in the morning. Not fresh at all. Seaweed was too slimey to the extent that the rice below it was green and slimey as well. Sushi was also very loosely packed so it looked standard size but didn't have much inside and the tempura prawn in the sushi was chewy. I think they just sold me yesterday's items because I bought it in the morning, which isn't a good thing...
