KISS AND TELL
They say you shouldn’t kiss and tell but, tell I must.
Pre-theatre last night we tried Kiss and Tell on Level 1, 37-41 Little Bourke Street (across the road from Longrain, yes, it was difficult not to head straight there). You need to go to Kiss and Tell. This is seriously good food.
You take an old lift that has seen better days up to the first floor and as the doors open you step into the darkness and are enveloped in the vibe that is obvious the moment you step from the elevator. Greeted warmly with a big smile and shown to our tables you immediately feel good. The place looks fabulous.
You can select whatever you like from the menu or try the 5 savoury dishes for $45 per person option, which we did, and it turns out to be seriously good value for money. The menu is just about the right size and caters for everyone with meats, vegan options, seafood and vegies.
We began with the mushroom croquettes served with a pumpkin puree and perfectly melted gruyere cheese. I could so easily have gone another serving but fortunately I left room for the delights to come.
Next up were the lobster sliders. Tempura lobster complemented with coriander and a spicy mayo had the senses tingling with every bite. Enter the scallops. Baked and served on the shell with a Vietnamese potato cheese sauce that was decadent and I could easily sit and eat a bowl of it on its own.
At this point the most difficult of discussions began, which dish is your favourite? As the debate ensued the fried baby squid with soy chilli, caramel sauce and shallots arrived and as we ate it the debate grew tougher. The squid was cooked just right and the crunch simply delicious.
To round out the meal was the green curry with tofu, (you could opt for chicken or vegan chicken) bamboo, capsicum, zucchini, snake beans and fried kale to which we added a little coconut rice as a side. I think we have a winner! Perfectly cooked vegetables and a delectable curry with just a comforting zing was scrumptious.
I repeat, the vibe, the service and the food, especially the food, make Kiss and Tell a must visit. You will not be disappointed. It’s a great date night venue or just as good with a group of friends.
We will be going...
Read moreI've had the pleasure of dining at Kiss & Tell twice now, and each visit has been nothing short of a brilliant culinary experience. This restaurant has undoubtedly become a favorite, and I can't recommend it enough to fellow food enthusiasts.
On both occasions, I opted for the tasting menu, and it was a decision I did not regret. The culinary journey that unfolded was a symphony of flavors and textures, leaving me in awe of the chef's artistry. One standout dish that has left an indelible mark on my taste buds is the lobster rolls – a sublime combination of succulent lobster meat and perfectly toasted buns. It's safe to say that these rolls are truly to die for!
The menu at Kiss & Tell boasts a variety of exquisite offerings, and some dishes stood out in particular. The green curry was a delightful explosion of aromatic herbs and spices, creating a perfect balance of heat and flavor. The kingfish sashimi was a fresh and vibrant dish, showcasing the chef's commitment to using high-quality ingredients. The scallops, another star of the evening, were cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful.
Not only does Kiss & Tell excel in delivering an extraordinary dining experience with its menu, but the cocktails are also worth mentioning. The mixologists at this establishment have mastered the art of crafting unique and delicious concoctions, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the meal.

REVIEW: 📖 I love Kiss & Tell's approach to affordable food. For $45pp, we got to pick 2 entrees, 2 mains and a side dish which turned out just to be the right amount of food for us! When you can also pick what to get from the menu to make up the Tasting Selection, it's hard to go wrong (unless you pick things you don't like). 😅
❤️ My favourites from our selection: Baked scallops. The Vietnamese cheese sauce was heavenly and added this savoury kick that I appreciated. It's a classic treat that always goes down well. 🧀 Green curry chicken. The fried kale was an excellent addition to the dish that added an amazing savouriness and texture. Fried kale is my kryptonite and it elevated this dish to drool-worthy heights. ☘️ Coconut rice. It's a simple thing but incredible when restaurants go the extra mile to drown the coconut rice in coconut milk and give it the royal treatment it deserves. 🤍 Big love to the kitchen for the amazing food we had that night!
My friend is gluten free. The food we had didn't detract from my experience at all. I can see why Kiss & Tell were so popular on a Friday night - it was packed to the rafters by the time I left! Bookings HIGHLY encouraged. ⭐
Service lost points on being unable to manage my water levels. I never got a refill on my water cup (sad) and would've appreciated a carafe if my water wasn't going to be topped up throughout the night. 🌧️ Other than that, we found that our food came out in a pretty timely manner! No...
