There is one major drawback that could potentially harm the future survival of the business: the shop closes at 9pm on Friday and Saturday nights. In winter, this isn't too bad. In summer, they could lose a lot of potential trade.
This could be a franchisee issue, a council issue, or a liquor licensing issue. Regardless, it is something that lacks the understanding of their clientele. There is still a steady demand for trade right to the last second of trade in winter, so if they wish for future survival, I'd strongly advise later closing times on the weekend. This is busy Acland street St kilda, big tourist trade.
I ordered about 10 minutes before closing, take away only, and my burger was still excellent. I got the Dirty Harry burger, which was really well made and cooked, and not rushed or shortcuts taken. So, it's definitely still up to standard. I would like to see fries on the menu instead or as well as chips, but I am still happy with chips. The loaded fries could be improved with the addition of actual cheese instead of that fake cheese sauce gloop.
They have definitely invested a lot of time in their branding and insignia of the restaurant, and I think that's a win. I would love to see more locations around Melbourne in the future. Overall impressions are good, but some small adjustments could be made. The operator is pleasant, polite, and friendly, but a little serious, not really a problem, just an...
Read moreAbsolutely love Hello Harry – The Burger Joint in St Kilda! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is super relaxed and welcoming. The staff are always smiling, friendly, and happy to chat or make a suggestion if you can’t decide what to order. The place has that perfect balance of casual and cool — you can come with friends, family, or even by yourself and still feel comfortable.
Now about the food — the burgers are just amazing! Juicy, full of flavour, and cooked perfectly every time. You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and the buns are soft but hold together nicely (a big deal for burger lovers!). The chips are crispy, the portions are generous, and the sauces — especially their house mayo — are next level. I’ve tried a few burger places around Melbourne, but Hello Harry really stands out for both quality and consistency.
What I really appreciate is that even when they’re busy, the service doesn’t drop. You get your food quickly and everything tastes as good as it looks. Honestly, if you love a good burger, this is the place to go. Highly recommend giving them a try — you won’t be...
Read moreYou're about to read the most authentic review possible. I've been going to Hello Harrys in St kilda since it opened recently. Now I'm one of those ibs intolerant to onion and garlic peeps. Most times that I go in I'm served by a man, I'm pretty confident his name is James and i think he must be a manager there. James has always helped me out with the safe to eat menu items and will always take the flavoured salt off my chips. Now TODAY for the first time ever I ordered food to my house instead of picking it up. I forgot to mention no seasoning on my chips when I ordered and just accepted I wouldn't eat them when they arrived. To my SUPRISE my chips arrived unseasoned. I'm imaging (and very confident) that James saw my name on the order- put 2 and 2 together and did not put the oniony season on for me. Thank you so much!!! l Love supporting this local business (I truely hope this wasn't a happy accident. if it is though, James still deserves the shout out). Amazing service. (PS: if your names not James tell me next time I...
