We have been coming here for generations since it was Pam's. The burgers are great (GF great too), chips tasty. Buuutttttttt....Uber Eats is making it really frustrating for your regular and local customers. Tonight I rang and ordered, and the person on the phone was listening to my order and someone elses in the shop, it took 4 times for the order of 2 burgers and minimum chips to be heard correctly, then wrong pick up number given and told 15 minutes. It was 40 minutes (this is a common occurrence) more than double the time. No GF burger buns - only bread, but only told this as I was handed my order and no actual apology just an explanation....the black ruby buns are the reason we go to you guys (but that's forgiven tonight). Numerous apologies given to the Uber Eats guys about waiting, but not to us. Someone else given a free drink for a long wait, but not us (we don't need a free drink, we want good servic). Presumably because you guys are popular there always seems to be a new person who is clueless. The stress is high and visible and there is obvious confusion and mis-communication every time we go, with staff constantly unable to track orders. This can all be improved. Read moreFood wise the fish was good, batter could have been thicker and crisper but otherwise was fresh tasting and moist on the inside.
Chips were okay, they weren't particularly notable and were on par with other fish and chip places.
Sauce was too expensive and no visible chicken salt to be used.
My friend and I got a free salad as they had excess of it and didn't want to see it go to waste. When packaging the meal upon realizing I was in a group of two kindly asked me if I wanted it in two separate boxes or one big one. Even asked if we wanted the third piece of fish cut in half for us.

However, no offence, but I felt bad for the young guy with blond hair who was reprimanded by his manager for not doing some cleaning practices the most efficient way when packing up. It’s not the best look in front of customers just as an FYI. I know what it feels like to be him from my first job in hospitality years ago, it’s quite humiliating. I would have made the suggestions in a calmer and quieter tone at the very least, and even better if it’s away...
