we came for dinner, we have been many many times to Little hop since 2017, but wow tonight was different, We arrived at around 7:45, ordered chips n dip they came out, the chips were so greasy, luckily the salt saved them... and unfortunately that was all we had to eat.. The Service was terrible, we came out to be waited on, and tonight it seemed the service stops after you order (unusual for Little Hop, usually very efficient), We ordered 4 tacos, how long can it take, well it took an hour to find out they lost our order. Now I empathise with human error. However, this was far beyond that, after about 30 odd minutes of no food, I walked in to check what was going on, There were no dockets or food being cooked, i looked around and the lady said are you ok? seems quiet abrupt so i my reply was yes, I had faith in the system at this point, so i let it go after about 45 minutes of no food and sitting in the cold, I asked a gentlemen if they'd lost our order, he rolled his eyes, brought us out some more water and then nothing happened, an hour has gone by now, still no food, eventually i've asked the third waitress, shes gone in had a joke around with the staff and come back and said sorry we've lost your docket...
My issue here is where is the service? where was the communication? no one bothered to check once, mean while you have a line out he door waiting for a table.... shocking service, terribly oily chips, We ended up leaving with no food but said chips. I said I never would go to El Camino and I did tonight, for a place where you order from a QR code with teenage staff, they provided better service, sad.
This experience ruined our planned night and we came home early after a burrito at f**g El Camino. Blasphemy
I know the establishment is better than that, restaurants have an order of service....

This changed after bringing in a couple friends from out of town a few nights ago. The whole atmosphere was different, music insanely loud, way more people behind the bar despite few customers. It's table service so we sat down and waited to order, 20 mins past without being seen, we reminded them we were waiting and eventually a man comes over to take our order. Immediately we notice this guy is extremely intoxicated; swaying, slurring, standing way too close to us, not understanding what our drink orders were (margarita & tequila sodas...), after a painful ordering process he returned to the table as soon as he left as he'd forgotten the order already. We were starting to feel uncomfortable, which was evident on our faces, the server then decided to tell us to 'relax, it's a party, you should smile more.' Telling 3 young women to 'smile' after you've ignored them, forgotten their drinks then made them extremely uncomfortable is disrespectful as hell so we decided to cancel the drinks and leave. Upon cancelling we wanted to explain to another staff member how awful the experience was by the drunk server, to which said server jumps in front and says 'I'm the owner, I don't care, you can leave. Just get out." What an egregious way to treat your patrons. All three of us work hopso and have made sure we warn all our mates to give this place a miss.
TLDR: misogynistic drunk 'owner' will ignore you, make you uncomfortable then kick you out when you try to give feedback. Avoid at all costs.

Read moreI’m really disappointed that I feel the need to write this review - i’d like to make it clear that my first two visits to Little Hop’s were excellent, with great food and great service. I’m visiting melbourne and made a special point of coming back last Thursday with 3 friends. The food was still great, even though they did get one of my tacos wrong, but the problem was resolved quickly. The service was a little brusque and unfriendly. The waiter serving us gave attitude when one of my friends requested no green salsa on her taco - making an unnecessary comment about ‘not being able to handle spice’. We were also overcharged $14.50, charged for two guac and chips instead of one.
As I was on holiday here, I found myself busy for the next couple days before returning to my picture of the receipt to organise splitting the bill among my friends. I only noticed the overcharge on Tuesday and came back as soon as I did. Unfortunately while accidents happen and overcharging is forgivable the service I received while asking for the refund was not. A woman with a nose ring and a ponytail braid served us, and after we showed her our photo of the receipt instead of a friendly apology she asked me directly “Why didn’t you come back earlier?”. I explained I was visiting but she did not care and walked off outside with the card reader to hit her vape and serve other customers. We waited patiently. After about 5min she came back, brought up the wrong transaction twice on the reader, and then in exasperation slammed $14.50 in cash on the counter without eye contact and walked away. My friends and I will make a point of not returning to Little Hop after being treated with such hostility...
