Lost and Found Cafe + Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

Absolutely appalling! A group of three of us enjoying a sunny lunchtime walking the river, never been to this area before and looking for a bite to eat during lockdown. Everything seemed to be closed as all of the outdoor furniture was packed away due to Covid when we saw someone selling takeaway coffee. We ordered and as we were standing waiting we noticed two more cafes tucked behind the trees. We went up one by one and decided to get our lunch and cold drinks from there. As soon as our coffees were ready we headed to Cafe Boutique but were rudely told by the owner that we could not buy food from there because we had bought our coffees elsewhere. When I explained he just repeated “we sell coffee”. I understand that you shouldn’t take products from another establishment, but nothing is normal with lockdown so could barely see his cafe, and it’s all takeaway anyway, so technically there’s nothing to stop you buying things from several outlets. Dropped into this cafe on a lovely Sunday afternoon (13th Oct19). It is somewhat secluded between appartments, parks and lakes with both indoor and outdoor table service overlooking the lake. We were greeted quite warmly and were given a menu to peruse and to choose anything we fancied. That was a shared plate of breads with dips, wedges and two lattes. The coffee was hot and full flavoured. Just perfectly how I like it. The bread was thick and lightly toasted on the outside, soft inside and accompanied with 4 different flavoured dips that were plentiful. The wedges were chunky with just the right amount of seasoning and also accompanied with a big bowl of sour cream and sweet chilli sauce. It was ok, the food actually reminded me a little of mum's cooking. Portions are more then enough and I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a filling breakie or lunch. Coffee can do with a bit of an upgrade (change milks for soy to a bonsoy or something creamier and less extraction).

To be honest the fit out is kinda smashed together and if you are into a wedding reception for Kim Kardashian sort of decor then this is the place for you.
