It WAS one of our favourites places, where we used to enjoy the food quality and the atmosphere along with speedy service. ALL THAT CHANGED 180 DEGREE LAST VISIT: 1- we ordered our favourite plates as usual (Mansaf + Mashawy Grill) 2- as soon as the 1st Mansaf plate landed on the table, all of us (7 adults and 7 kids) couldn't bear the smell 3- other mansaf plates followed in the next few minutes which weren't all smelly, but still we could swear they are no good. 4- we asked the manager to replace few plates, which he did, and we thought that was the end of the problem. 5- while eating, not all the lamb pieces (in the same plate) are tasting the same, we could clearly tell the difference, especially when the food started to smell again. 6- of course we again told the manager we are not happy with the food, we are leaving with some plates almost untouched and we had no appetite anymore because of what's happening. 7- while paying for the food, he wanted us to pay for all plates including milkshakes we have ordered 30 mins before leaving and were never served. 8- we definitely refused to be charged for food that is only useful to be thrown away, and we told him the milkshakes were not served. 9- he made the staff make the milkshakes in takeaway cups, saying "they are ready but you are leaving!" 10- lastly he removed the price of 1 Mansaf and we had to pay for the other 4, 11- he gave us a small Mashawy platter as a replacement to one of another untouched Mansaf.
So sad, this place was a great getaway dinning with the kids, but definitely not coming back as we cannot trust the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here after having a look at the website and menu which looked affordable and also the outdoor seating area overlooking the Maribyrnong River looked appealing. Let's just say the experience was extremely disappointing from the get go. Upon arrival, although there was hardly anyone there, just 2 people outside and a few tables of people inside, we asked for a table for 2. Asked if we could sit outside, but were told no we couldn't although there were plenty of tables sitting empty. We were then given menus. More disappointment ensued as looking at the price for the Sharing menu online and in actual person you would think it was a different restaurant- not only was it more expensive but items were not on the menu of the Sharing options as advertised online on their website (if you have a website as a business you should really make the effort to at least update your menu and pricing). To top that off, we found out that it was only BYO alcohol after asking for a drinks menu! Stuck to drinking water but their glasses smelled eggy so avoided drinking anything for the whole dinner experience. We ordered the Sharing plate for 2. It would have been ok if the food was served at a decent pace to allow you to eat and enjoy. Instead everything was literally dumped on the table in quick succession and half of it went stone cold by the time we got around to trying it. Chilli fish was dry and unappetising. Lots of rice. Not enough substance. Toilets were also pretty gross. Personally, I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has amazing views and good shisha however the last few times visiting we were seated and left for 40 minutes before even having someone ask us about drinks or give us the menus. Last night I went with my partner and was advised only the banquet was available I asked if we could half the amount as I can't eat a standard amount due to surgery. The waiter was so so rude to me snatched my menu and said well you don't need to see the food then and left the menu with my partner and walked off. I felt so unwelcomed at the venue it was upsetting. My partner said to me he can get the banquet which is for 2 people and take it home but he will ask about it when the waiter returns. the waiter came back brought us the water and basically dropped it on the table abruptly and then leaving rolling his eyes I felt so so unwelcome there. It was really upsetting to the point i was in tears and left with my partner. Normally despite the waiting we endured the last few times we would return as they do have good quality food and shisha and such a beautiful view and I hope others have better experiences but unfortunately for me after this last experience I wont return which is sad. I don't think a restaurant should be mean towards a person who's had surgery and cannot eat a full meal. Or even half of a meal. Those who have had surgery procedures like this I would discourage this venue but I also think better training needs to be seeked towards...
