Mia Riverside Takeaway — Restaurant in Melbourne

Been running past this little place for near on 30 years. Never been inside. But near opposite Bunbury St. Where there was a cable drawn punt in the 1840s/50s. In one map shown as on a slight diagonal. Maybe there was a cafe / food outlet at this location way back.

This area should become part of a wider park along the east side of the Maribyrnong. Call it Humbug Reach Reserve. Down to Footscray Rd and along the edge there under the new Westgate Tunnel-Overpass where the Charles Grimes memorial is, although that needs to be shifted (back) to along the bank of the Maribyrnong near where the Yarra used to join. Even if it is entangled in an octopus of ramps and bridges. At least then it would really mark the right spot.

I'm sure that given increased number of cyclists, pedestrians and runners that Mia's will start to see some new customers. If it's open of a weekend. On the other hand, still plenty of trucks and industry in the area, don't change anything!

No variety after 12pm. Won’t cook anything after they have cleaned the cook top even if it’s only 12:30pm although they are supposed to be open until 2:30pm. May as well change your closing hours to midday. This shop has gone down hill dramatically since it opened, more so in the past 1-2 years but the last 12-18months has caused me to not want to even waste my time anymore. It’s a shame, as it is walking...

Food is lovely and tasty cooked fresh, very nice and clean place with two very pretty and polite ladies to greet and serve you.

Perfect lil spot with ample opportunity for parking if you're in big rig too.
