The wok charred skills from the chef in Nahm Tao is the top 3 for me not just in Melbourne but in many cities I visited.

Me and my wife had been here for more than 10 visits and the chef never failed once.

We had these 3 on each visit: Pad See Ew with beef The flat rice noodles are perfectly executed, the veggies are crunchy, and full of wok charred aroma and heat.

Chilli Basil stir fry with chicken As above without the noodles

Thai fried rice with prawns The Thai fried rice we had last night (Sat night) was 10 out of 10.

My wife is a very picky foodie and she never went back to any chinese restaurants that are supposed to have this wok charred as their basic skill set, thus most of their dishes are too oily, once again, it's not limited to Melbourne.

This is just our observations but I think it's...

Small place but great food ! Don’t be fool by the look of the small place or limited numbers of tables of this restaurant. It’s small but the service and food are great. We are a company of six and we had good time here. Call in advance to get a table. Comparatively to other Thai restaurant around Melbourne, this is one of the best thus far for us. The tomyum soup is great and it’s not so spicy which is suiting to our taste. Padthai and fried rice also taste delicious. The fried chicken is something new which we had not tasted before in other Thai restaurant. It’s a must try if you are there, a great appetizer choice. One setback is there’s no restroom at this place at such we will rate if for four stars...

Amazing Thai food at very reasonable prices.

We finally tried Nahm Tao and we were not disappointed. We tried the chicken satays, crab fried rice and pad si ew. For dessert, we tried the banana dumplings. They were all delicious.

The service was excellent. Nice and friendly. Most importantly for us, they are very kid friendly.

The only thing to note is that there are no toilets there. We had a small drama with the little one wanting to go but there was not a toilet nearby. Thankfully one of the other restaurants nearby was gracious enough to let him use theirs.

Overall, this place is highly recommended. We...

This little Thai restaurant near Queen Victoria market is serving up some tasty food! We got the pad prik king (with pork belly) and pad see ew (with chicken) to share. The pork belly skin was wonderfully crunchy, coated in a fragrant sauce. Pad see ew had a great smoky char, and it was packed with a lot of chicken. Overall we were happy with the taste and flavours, and it was a very good value dinner. Only critique would be that there was no air conditioning so it could be a bit stuffy on a hot day (they have electric fans running though). Would love to come back and try other dishes!
