I wasn’t going to leave a review until I noticed quite a few unreasonably biased or not even true, from my experiences. This store is probably the best Nando’s across Australia.
First thing first - it is common sense even for us as customer that a store could only follow the rules they received from the business. If there’s an issue with their experience design, it’d be on the business, not the store. As a local guide, I wouldn’t say it’s fair to rate a store down when you’re personally against scan-and-order for dine-in, providing contact details for receiving receipts, queuing, paying by card only, or when you have your own preferences for the spices. For business like Nando’s, the oven has all the presets to pre-cook the food, meaning there is no way for it to be uncooked. Also I’ve seen reviews of calling the store - there is no dedicated store phone line. Not sure who they were actually calling.
Again, from what I had there, not only the staff would always patiently explain things and clarify for my confusion (and some guides thought this was not okay - what would you have expected them to perform shall I ask), but this store was also happy to offer order-at-front and food remakes in case of my dissatisfaction with the food. I’m always informed of the wait time as an estimate so I can decide and there’s label on my food-to-go for me to double check preventing mix-ups.
Apart from those, I’ve proven that you have access to multiple language support at this store. Their entire menu is detailed available on their website, saving you from being overwhelmed attending in store, which is quite to my liking but I’m not going to be as personal as other guides - I will tell you they also have physical menus in store as long as you ask. Don’t wait there for table services, just ask. By the way, only this store provides unlimited drink refills for dine-in.
From what I’ve seen, this store is willing to do literally anything they can to make you happy. My family own a restaurant too and we would never make food in such highly customisable way. No need to be surprised when you see multiple vegetarian options, or only a tender between two breads because customers on next table literally asked for that.
Since I’m a regular, I’ve seen other customers being rude to their employees then complain about Nando’s zero tolerance policy. In this case, maybe Australia isn’t the right country for you,...
Read moreYesterday at 4:30 we waited in line to have some nandos inside the place. After waiting 15 mins we got our seats and the staff told us we have to order through the app! It was my 1st time I had to order through the app, I actually didn't like it, but then I was like it's ok, I learn something new today. So it took me a few minutes to download the app and to go through the app to order. I did order eventually. One of the other features of the app was to give free chips for new users, so I was like why not!? I click on it, the barcode came up and needed to be scan in the store, I showed the barcode to one of the staff, but she said unfortunately our scanner is not working! We got our order which was whole chicken. We didn't enjoy it and didn't taste as nice. Our chicken was pinkish and very soft. I think chicken should be white and not pink, this is what I learned before at Nandos. And I think chicken shouldn't be soft and I believe it was a bit off. There is a difference between cooked chicken and soft and pinky chicken. I have some suggestions, I think customers should be able to order at the counter, what if someone dont have enough data, or enough charge on their mobile. You might say Chadstone has free Vifi, our store has free wifi, believe me I tried both yestetday, didn't work! What if someone wants to pay cash! What if a person doesn't know to use technology! What if someone doesn't have smartphone! So I strongly believe there should be an option for people to order at the counter. Plus ordering via app is time consuming, at least for people who is going to use it for the 1st time. Plus, customers already waited outside to get the table, they don't want to wait again and go through the app to order, ordering at the counter is much faster. I don't know perhaps you get money when people install the app! Or less staff is needed, after all if people wasting their time and order via app, there is no need for extra staff to...

ordered tonight - small classic pita meal, with instructions of please making sure the chicken was extra well done (so would assume it would be HOT) wrong !!!
the chips came out and they will peri peri chips, told her i ordered without the peri peri seasoning she brought back a new one, these were cold i touched the inside of the pita as the bread felt cold - the chicken was freezing cold, not even slightly warm let alone extra well cooked
i took my plate to the staff serving the food and asked her to touch it, at first she was hesitant, i said no please touch it - it’s freezing cold
i asked her to make me a new one - not reheat the one she had just touched but a fresh one my gut told me to wait and watch it unfold as she went out the back and explained to the girl at the grill - the girl at the grill simply took out the chicken and put it on the grill - I was disgusted !!! you can see right thru and had just watched what she did. I explained that I wanted a fresh one - not one staff members had touched with there bare hands - after feeling disgusted by it I decided to cancel my order and asked for a refund. the fact that no one even apologised or understand what had unfolded makes me think what they do in the kitchen !!!
not one ounce of health, food and safety in that place - i would really love for the health inspector to pop in one day unexpectedly because the visible mess and level or care in the kitchen is 0.
i spoke with egor the manager and he is processing a full refund from head office.
i would strongly advise not to visit nandos - the hygiene, the food practices, there moral compass is completely off
oh and to the young girl at the grill with the smug look after i dobbed her in - you should really consider a job elsewhere as you clearly...
