We went to your restaurant about 3 hours ago. I ordered a small bowl of pho (baby size) and vegetarian spring rolls, while my partner ordered a pork rice bowl with extra pork.
After I received my small pho, I realized how good the soup was, so I suggested my partner try one as well. He then ordered another small pho for himself.
At this point, what we understood we had ordered was: • 2 small pho • 1 vegetarian spring roll • 1 pork rice with extra pork
However, when the rice arrived, we were served 2 pork rice instead of 1.
My partner was confused and asked the staff if he had accidentally ordered 2. She said yes. He checked his phone and saw that, yes, he had mistakenly ordered twice, so we both accepted that and were totally fine paying for it.
We simply continued enjoying our meal.
Later, when the spring rolls were brought to the table, I politely asked the staff,
“Can I get this for takeaway, please?” (The pork rice wasn’t even touched.)
At that moment, the staff sighed in frustration at us a very noticeable and unpleasant sigh.
I was quite shocked. I pulled the plate back and calmly said,
“That’s okay. Can you just give me a takeaway box? I can pack it myself.”
(I understand that some restaurants may have rules that staff cannot pack the food for customers and are only allowed to provide a takeaway box. We completely understand that. But it would have been enough to communicate politely with us — we are capable of understanding and communicating respectfully, and we are well-educated.)
But I really don’t understand why your staff reacted that way.
We didn’t blame her or the restaurant, we didn’t argue, and we were willing to pay for everything.
All I asked for was a takeaway box, not special treatment or a discount. And we also happy to pay for the takeaway box as well
It’s not about the food — the food was actually very delicious — but about how your staff handled the situation.
A simple sigh like that can make a customer feel disrespected and very uncomfortable, especially when the customer did nothing wrong.
I truly hope this feedback helps improve communication and customer service at your restaurant. Because honestly, your food was amazing, but that one moment really ruined the overall experience for...
Read moreA new Vietnamese restaurant has arrived on Victoria Street, and you MUST check it out 😍 There are some speciality items offered here that you might not find at other Vietnamese restaurants nearby.
We ordered the mi quang and the com tam..both very delicious. The broth for the mi Quang has a rich seafood flavour, lots of meat and crispy rice crackers. Just wish the prawns were more fresh (lacking that 'pop') and the noodles weren't overcooked. Com tam had the best steamed egg loaf (cha trung hap)..light, juicy and flavourful.
At Pho Nho I feel like I'm eating at a restaurant in Vietnam, as opposed to a Vietnamese-Australian restaurant (nothing against that - my favourite pho place is just up the street). There's an extra level of care for authentic taste.
Here are three reasons why I believe this:
Check out the condiment tray. There are FIVE different spicy condiments ranging from chili oil, sriracha, satay sauce and pickled fresh chilis. So many options to customise your dish with!
Fresh salad and herbs. No Coles spring mix found here. I love that Pho Nho stays true to offering the specific side veggies and herbs that come with a particular dish. And there is LIME, not lemon 🙌
Small menu. Offering a smaller selection of dishes feels like they're focusing more on quality vs quantity.
I'm a Victoria Street regular and I can't wait to try some of the other...
Read moreIf you’re a fan of chicken dishes, you definitely shouldn’t miss these two must-try favorites: special chicken pho and full-topping chicken rice!
The chicken pho here is truly impressive, featuring free-range chicken that’s tender yet flavorful — you can really taste the quality. The bowl is generously filled with crispy chicken gizzards and creamy young eggs, creating a combination that feels both comforting and unique. The broth is clear and naturally sweet from simmered bones, rich but never greasy. Add a sprinkle of scallions, ginger, and pepper, and it’s just like a taste of home.
As for the chicken rice, it’s a complete happiness combo: the rice is cooked in chicken broth, giving it a fragrant, buttery aroma and a lovely golden color. The free-range chicken stays juicy and flavorful, paired with savory stir-fried gizzards, young eggs, fresh cucumber, and pickled veggies that are perfectly tangy and crunchy. Every element complements the others for a satisfying, colorful meal.
All in all, both dishes bring a sense of comfort — like enjoying a homemade meal. Totally...
