Atrocious service - Macdonalds does better, if I can give zero star here , I would. Came here for a celebratory dinner - food was of a good standard but the portions are on the small side. This restaurant’s pricing is in the upper- mid end but the service is truly atrocious - you’ll get better service at Macdonald’s - truly disappointing. Came here for a celebratory dinner, the young waiter just stood at a nearby bench and ticked off dishes as they arrived on the table by the servers. EVERY single refill of water for the teapot or for the water carafe had to be prompted by me - NOT once did he volunteer to do this as this is HIS JOB , even when he can clearly see the empty teapots etc sitting in the table for half an hour or more- simply lazy!
The kicker is when the waitress accidentally knocked over a full glass of our very expensive champagne and broke the glass whilst serving a freshly steamed fish on the table - glass slivers shattered all over the fish. They offered to change the sauce only rather than voluntarily steam a fresh fish for obvious safety reasons . Had to argue to get a fresh fish steamed, no offer of a small discount or a free token dessert to placate the customer. Finally no formal apology from management until we have paid the full bill and were leaving . The restaurant was very busy as it’s new and a novelty still so I guess they don’t care. But for us,...

The person handling bookings over the phone is hopeless. Put in a proper booking system with confirmation if your people cannot be trusted.
One of our guests had to force them to put us into their private function room since there were so many of us arriving.
Do not recommend unless you like to gamble.
Original review:
Called to book a table of 8 two weeks in advance and when we turned up today there was no booking, they couldn’t find the name nor the number so I have no idea what the gentleman booked me in for. I’m fully expecting to get a call from this venue at some point on another day asking where I am.
The stuff up on the weekend before Chinese new year meant we couldn’t get anything else at the last minute for our party so we had to reluctantly give this venue our business and order takeaway which we were told would take 15 mins, 45 mins later we got our order.
The lobster noodle was meaty and tasty, the rest of our dishes were okay and to standard.
Recommend that you double check booking with them. There is no confirmation sms or confirmation of booking the day before.
There was a lady there who understood the frustration of the situation and did what she could to make it better so thanks to her, there’s...
Read moreRecently, I've become hooked on the Durian pastry at Phoenix , a popular Cantonese restaurant in Boxhill known for its dim sum. The durian flavor is just right, while the crispy, flaky exterior makes every bite a delight. It’s a must-order for me every time I visit.
Another favorite of mine is the Deep-fried yum dumpling, probably because I’m a big fan of taro in general. The layers of flaky crust add an aromatic crunch that’s simply irresistible.
The Avocado puff pastry BBQ pork bun has a unique look, almost like a melon-flavored pineapple bun, but when it comes to taste, I still prefer the classic BBQ pork pastry.
Other dishes I really enjoy are the Pickled vegetables with pork tripe and the Steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce. My daughter, however, is all about the Jade crystal shrimp balls.
As for the Deep-fried whitebait, I personally think Golden Lily does it better. The other dishes were good overall, with nothing falling short in quality.
I also appreciate that you can make reservations here on weekends, and the atmosphere is quite comfortable. Despite the weekend crowd, the service remains attentive.
Here’s a receipt of the dishes we ordered for four adults and two kids that day, for...
