MachiMachi — Restaurant in Melbourne

I ordered to pickup online, and the estimated completion was 20 minutes. I arrived at the store at the estimated time of completion, saw that my drink was ready in the counter, but couldn't get the server's attention. There were 4 others in store waiting for orders. I waited at the pickup counter, phone in hand, trying to show the server my order details, as she ran back and forth from the kitchen making the next order. Orders were piling up on the counter with more people with online orders walking in, seeing that their order was sitting there ready, but unable to get the server's attention. She served one delivery person who came in after a couple of us who had already been waiting, checking his order details and going to make his order from scratch whilst continuing to ignore those of us standing there, not even checking whether the orders that were already made might be ours. A lady next to me rang the bell a couple times. The server came back out and continued placing orders on the counter without calling them out to the waiting customers or acknowledging those of us here to pickup online orders, so I pointed to my order which had now been sitting there for at least 10 minutes beyond the pickup time, said 'I think that's mine' and showed her the details on the app (deliveroo) so she handed it to me. The drink is nice, but I asked for 'less suger' and it has come with none. Besides it being a bit silly to wait upwards of 30 minutes for a cup of bubble (a fairly simple order too), it was also totally unnecessary given my order was READY when the store had said it would be ready, but the server was only completing orders and not handing them out to the customers. Very confusing experience especially since there were others in the kitchen, and the store...

It was such a bad experience. I have been to Machi Machi a few times, although the city store was busy they able to serve the customer as fast as they can and also call it according to the number. I was so excited to know that Box Hill is going to open and I went to Box Hill store on Saturday (03/10/2020). The staff arranges the customer to queue up nicely and provide us drinks and menu. Although we need to queue up to order and our drinks were ready in 5-10 minutes. I decided to go again today and I found out no need to queue for a long time cause only got two customers in front of me. I ordered two drinks and my number is 56 then I go out to wait for my number to be called. At first, they called the number 52 which is the number is close to mine, then they skip to 57 then 53, 54,60,61.... and I keep waiting. Then after 28 MINUTES, finally my number appear on that screen. And the staff finally told that the brûlée need to be baked in the oven??? That's why need to be waited for so long. I not the first time ordering these drinks tho, OVEN??? Don't make fun of other people please, and if really need to wait for so long the cashier should inform the customer when they doing...

(TL;NR) really a question of "Would you rather". Sit or take away? I would sit because...read below!

Hmmm. Really need option of 3.5. This bubble tea store gave me mixed feeling. Taste is there definitely but so as some other store close by. Then it does have nice interior, best for female customers (and me as an intellectual haha). But i dont know. Most of us dont normally sit and drink bubble tea unless the store sells other stuffs like bread or some sort.

So, here's a question for you all. Choose wisely.

Would you want to pay bit extra to sit and enjoy a nice tea inside this fancy looking store where it gives good vibe&mood

Or

Would you take the tea away and pay extra for no reason other than a "slightly nicer" looking cup with "slightly nicer" bag

It's your choice really. I will choose the first option if im with my friends who likes to sit and chat with just a drink. I am not quite sold on sitting personally unless they start selling something to munch on 😉.

Edit: just to clarify, you don't pay extra for sitting. It is just that overall it is about 1...
