Pimento Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Melbourne

We have been dining at this restaurant for the best part of 20 years and it has always been our cheap and cheerful local Thai restaurant. Over this period of time the food has always been amazing and we have never felt the need to complain, until now. Whilst the food continues to be very impressive the service has plummeted, and can only be considered atrocious. Waiting to be served, food orders not taken correctly or entire courses missing has now become the standard of service. Add to this the constant stream of Uber eats delivery drivers (an ironic testament to how good the food is)through the restaurant is a constant annoyance as they hover over you as you eat. Sadly, it seems now that the crowded Thai restaurants of Koornang road Carnegie are a much better option if we want to dine in...or...

Such a great restaurant! AmaIngly reasonably priced. Meal for 7 only cost $190 so we were very pleased..!

The food was honestly delicious compared to any other Thai restaurant around. Probably the second best Thai food I’ve had, maybe even the best. Really great food.

Staff were excellent and BYO is always good. It’s a nice atmosphere, not loud and feels fancy. Certainly feels like a place with higher priced food.

Overall, our party of 7 were all extremely satisfied with our food and the service. Gets an easy 8/10 from me.

Other than the semi slow service here, this restaurant was a hit with us. The food was so good, and the prices are so reasonable. It's got cute decor and beautiful presentation and dishes. The variety is the same as what you might expect at other Thai restaurants, but what we ordered was nicer than other places we've been to.

I don't love it when people that arrive after you and order after you, receive their meals before you, but with that asside ... I can't fault it here at all. The staff were friendly and did I mention the food was YUM?

Will definitely be coming...
