Pizza Boy — Restaurant in Melbourne

Great ingredients but very hit and miss. It's starting to get sloppy. Consistency is such a problem with many takeaways and restaurants. I have enjoyed the pizzas here in the past but now it's going down hill. Either the oven isn't hot enough, the pizza needs more time, the ingredients are vastly undercooked or it's varying staff methods.

Previously I had very undercooked prawns on one of the pizzas and it really upset my stomach before I had realised. Had to recook at home to make safe to eat. I recently tried the pizzas again and the same problem, undercooked toppings and uncooked dough. And now with the toppings slathered on the dough can't cook and you get a sloppy pizza. It's a solid average pizza base to begin with and ingredients but if the food isn't cooked properly and the toppings are too thick it all goes to waste...please head cook and/or staff - try your pizzas and get the quality control and cooking methods under control. I say this in the hope there's good food again!

Again I'll say great ingredients but plagued by inconsistent and at times potentially harmful cooking practices.

I usually order from Pizza Boy and find it amazing however in this instance I've had to give it 2 stars because my mother was eating from the pizza and had bitten into a piece of glass.

We were quite shocked because in the 4 years we'd ordered nothing like this has ever happened.

What's disappointing is that when I called the place to notify them, the manager simply said he's sorry and he'll give me a free pizza. This was not at all the point... not only could my mother have been seriously hurt.. a child incapable of knowing that they were biting glass could've eaten and swallowed that and been seriously hurt. I explained this to him and his attitude was very nonchalant as if it wasn't a big deal and only said "sorry about that."

So while I do think their pizza is good just be careful eating as there could be shards of glass in food.

Ordered the 2 large pizzas, garlic bread & bottle of drink meal. Where do I start at how bad this was, was told on ordering there were no bottles of drink but I can have a can instead. Alarm bells should have started ringing right then but ended up negotiating 3 cans (which still doesn't equal 1.25 litres), I added bacon = extra $1 (fine). Was told it would take 40 minutes, 1 hour later we get our pizza. The driver had no change & no garlic bread!!! He rang the shop, told me he'd be back with the garlic bread, in the mean time we got stuck into the pizza- ordinary, tasteless, bland, soggy & not enough sauce.
