I was in heaven at Rose Water Dessert Bar. My sweet tooth have never been so satisfied, and I was in a sugar coma the whole night. The four of us shared the Dessert Board, Knafeh French Toast and Vegan Mango Mousse, and I proudly admit that we, or more specifically, me and Tim.E's partner polished off everything.
Let's start with the Dessert Board. It's meant to be shared between 2 but I think it will do just fine for 1 sweet tooth with a bottomless tummy, or 3 if you're more sane than me. Consisting of strawberry egg waffle, Nutella crepe, sticky date pudding, chocolate mousse dome, Eton Mess and an assortment of fruits, this was dessert at its finest. The sticky date pudding was heavenly, and so was the Nutella crepe. The former was rich and moist, while the latter was thin and soft. Beautiful flavours, and this was the case for everything on the board.
The Knafeh French Toast was a hit too, with its crisped exterior, and gooey and stretchy texture. The rose water syrup lent a delicate flavour, and the pistachios crumble added a slight crunch to each mouthful.
I wasn't expecting to like the Vegan Mango Mousse as much as I did, but it was super refreshing and light. The mousse was of a smooth consistency, and the taste of mango reminded me of summer. The popping pearls were a joy to eat, giving a burst of flavour...
Read moreI came in with many family members and we basically ordered all the desserts on the menu.
First off, it took a really long time for the food to arrive, some of my family members got their food in 15-20 minutes while some members including me got it in 30-40 minutes. So some finished their food while others were still waiting.
Secondly, I ordered the cinnamon waffles for my sister but specifically asked the waitress not to add the Nutella drizzle as my sister is severely allergic to hazelnuts. A different waitress delivered the waffles and placed the plate Infront of me, I saw a brown drizzle on the plate and asked if it was Nutella. She told me it wasn't Nutella and that it was just chocolate and then left. I felt uneasy so i called her back and told her that it looked like Nutella and if she could double check with the kitchen staff. She then returned and told me it was Nutella and that she would get a new one for me. This made me feel very uneasy as my sister could've eaten it and had a severe reaction.
Lastly when the food did arrive, it looked beautiful but unfortunately the taste wasn't the same, it definitely looked better than it tasted.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend it for...
Read moreBeen to Rosewater Cafe a few times now and each time have not been disappointed. It's a dessert cafe so yep, all you can get is dessert. No savoury dishes to be found. Coffee is good. and the desserts are both great and ordinary. Most recently had the Panna Cotta and the Kunefe French Toast. The Panda Cotta (Im not sure what Panda Cotta is, but that's what autocorrect did so I'm leaving it) itself was OK, not overly vanilla flavoured and just normal really, but the rose cream on the top was a different experience. If you aren't used to rose flavouring in your dessert it can be a bit to get used to. I really liked it. The Kunefe French Toast is a whole different story. If you come to Rosewater you have to get this dessert. Its delicious. The crepes were on the OK side of things. We have had the Sticky Date pudding here before as well and I would recommend it as another dish to try. Tasty, soft, moist sticky date pudding with a jug of butterscotch sauce to go with it. This place is definitely...
