Royal Oak — Restaurant in Melbourne

Once again Friday night offered another great meal at the Oak. We have been coming here religiously for well over 10 years. As employees of a large Victorian Insurer we have our monthly meals at the Oak. Last Friday we had 8 of us attend. All commented on not just the food but also the friendliness of the staff. The chef Russell as per always makes a point of coming out of the kitchen to see us and have a joke and a laugh. Not many pubs have that type of a caring and pride for its customers as these guys do and of course led by Russell. This sets the night for a great experience again. I must say the chicken snitzel and burgers were extremely appetising and most who had these as their main meal commented about how good they were. It was great to have a few drinks with our meals and then to be able to watch the Blues lose another game. Ha ha. Once again I forgot to use my members card. One day I'll remember. In conclusion to Russell and the staff (including bar staff) keep up the great work you do. Keep dishing up those great meals and keep the jokes and laughter coming. Your bloods is worth bottling. See you all again soon for another great meal. Be ready as next time there will be more attending....

What a great day we had at the Royal Oak on Friday afternoon. From superb service from Sam the manager and Lilly to magnificent food supplied by chef Russell. All our expectations were exceeded.

Sam and his staff went the extra distance ensuring that all our needs were easily met. Sam, Lilly and Russell were very friendly, giving great service and made it a fun day. We enjoyed ourselves so so much that we stayed an extra 2 hours.

What you look for is good food, good service, value for money and a good environment. This was easily achieved and exceeded by Sam and his staff.

We highly recommend the Royal Oak and shall revisit with anticipation. Totally satisfied with all aspects and would give them the highest rating possible.

I was recently brought to The Royal Oak for lunch by friends, and I can honestly say it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly welcome with their friendly, professional service. The food was simply excellent—beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and clearly made with care.

A special mention must go to our host and waiter, Sam, who truly made the experience unforgettable. His warmth, charm, and genuine attentiveness reminded me of the hospitality back in Ireland. Sam has that rare gift of making guests feel not just served, but truly looked after.
