Hard to go past Korean fried chicken so popped into @SamSamKoreanChicken and got the original. So yum, crispy on the outside, tender succulent chicken on the inside. I really like that flavoured salt. Love the wedges, the pickled cabbage and especially the pickled daikon radish.
Sometimes all you want is fried chicken so headed to @SamSamChicken and got the chicken deal for 3 to share amongst work mates, and kimchi fries. Chicken is original only so if you want flavours that comes with an extra cost so chose the following: Hot & Spicy Soy Garlic Soy Mustard with Spring Onion
The robot makes the chips and has done a good job. Crunchy chips, well seasoned, coated in gooey cheese, kimchi, mayo, and is very satisfying.
Then came the chicken which didn't disappoint. Boneless tender pieces, well cooked, crunchy, and the sauces coating the chicken enhance the flavour. The hot and spicy sauce wasn't that spicy, would have liked more kick. Probably the soy garlic sauce was the pick of the three for me. The shredded raddish with mayo dressing on the side provided much needed contrast with a fresh element, as too, the pickled daikon raddish providing a touch of acidity and crunch. A very filling meal, relished the walk back to the office.

Read moreWas very excited to come here since the chicken is cooked by a robot I thought this would have been a cool experience. However I think I will stick to humans cooking chicken from now on.
Not to say the meal was terrible because it wasn't it was okay, I had the soy and garlic chicken wasn't to bad but I wouldn't take it home to mum. The portion was very small aswell for the price which was a little disappointing.
iv just personally had better Korean chicken else where. I have a feeling most these positive reviews are from westerners ( and there was alot in there generally a good indication the quality isn't the highest) who haven't eaten much Korean fried chicken or those who just loved the experience of the slow cooking robot ( and I mean slow, we waited ages for our meal, I ordered chips aswell but eventually after half an hour wait I asked for a refund)
They have a thing you need to scan on the wall which opens up a menu on your phone, we where not informed about this by staff so we sat for at least half an hour before someone nice next to us decided to tell us what we had to do.
Would recommend staff inform patrons before seating at the table because the sign stating to order by code is easily missed.
Overall interesting to have a robot cook chicken for you, but I feel this place is equivalent to a McDonald's chain for Korean fried chicken nothing...
Read moreIt's honestly the worst Korean Fried Chicken place in Melbourne.
If you want to casually come to eat at this place and there's a line, no staff will come out to tell you, you need to go inside the restaurant first to grab a buzzer avoiding the line altogether, you just need to be nearby and wait to get called in and even that takes 30 minutes - 1 hour wait time.
Not only do you wait that long outside, the food can also take that long to get to your table. The table is also extremely sticky. The KFC is extremely greasy no matter which flavor you order, I'm assuming its cause they get their robot to cook the food for them. I only come to eat the rice dishes there because I have felt sick afterwards from eating the chicken almost every time.
Every time I have eaten at SamSam I have never had a pleasant experience with he cramped space where you could have your back against a stranger. Staff additionally are extremely rude and don't say anything to you like what food they are holding, they simply just chuck the food onto the table and run away.
I would never recommend anyone to eat here if you like KFC as there are much better places to eat than here.
Personal Recommendations: Chicken Mayo Rice and Kimchi...
