Smokin Joe's Pizza & Grill- Thornbury — Restaurant in Melbourne

Unfortunately, these are probably the worse Ribs I have ever (tried) to eat. We have had Ribs from a number of places locally and internationally (America, Indonesia), and none have arrived like this. What we just received was a slab of bone, gristle, and a small amount of meat that i had to work hard to saw off the tiniest part of meat to eat. My son (who also loves ribs) just got a mouth full of gristle and doesnt want another bite, and now i need to cook him a separate dinner, which is unfortunate as this is very expensive. The Chips are delicious, so is the sauce, i just cant fathom/understand if this is the food offering you are preparing to differentiate yourself from normal, standard ribs (and indeed if people are paying for it) or if something was just drastically wrong with the order we received. We have been looking forward to ribs all week, and i cant finish the serve we have now. Wouldn't ever come back for the ribs, or recommend to anyone else. The tiny portions of meat i could shave off tasted bland (only edible with the sauce). Have tried other places locally with much nicer ribs, will return there next time, just wanted to support another local restaurant in these COVID times but now have wasted my money and...

I ordered the small meatball pizza as i remembered it being pretty damn tasty when I last ate here a few years back. When it arrived I did a double take as the pizza wasn’t small, it was absolutely minuscule, a few cents shy of $20 for smallest pizza I’ve ever seen. What’s more it tasted nothing like the tasty meatball pizza I remembered and was very, very average. The once big and juicy meatballs had also shrunk - at least they’ve kept things to scale - they are now the size of small marbles and they taste like hamburger filler. The bacon pieces have been replaced with bacon dust. A small sized pizza has always been more than enough for me, but after finishing the few ordinary mouthfuls that was this pizza, I’m still starving. This place has seriously gone downhill. It used to be way better when the short girl and the guy with the beard were handling things — they actually had a clue. Now it’s a mess. The Indonesian girl couldn’t understand basic Aussie English, and then this clean-shaven bloke came over acting like he was in charge, but had no idea what he was doing. Stood there clueless, wasting time, made everything more frustrating. Food was cold, bland, and not worth the price. Not coming back until they fix the team and the quality.
