This is another pocket friendly spot where 12 pcs boiled/pan fried dumplings only cost $13.80.

Feaured: 🥟Pan Fried Pork Dumplings 🥟Steamed Shanghai Xiaolongbao 🥟Dumplings in Chilli Oil Sauce 🐷Sweet and Sour Pork👍🏻 🐟Ludrick fish fillet with pickled vege 🫛Chilli Green Beans with pork mince 干煸四季豆

Handmade dumplings are a must to order. The pan fried dumplings are super juicy! Be sure to have it with a spoon instead of chopsticks so you can salvage and slurp up the soupy goodness inside!

The fish fillet with pickled vege costs $28.80, but look at the size of the bowl! Can feed 2-3 pax! Best to pair with rice, the fish is thinly sliced and poached in a rich broth. The fish has a velvety and silky texture, with a piquant and zesty taste. It is a great dinner dish that you will find really comforting.😋

Sweet and sour pork, crispy coated pork smothered in a tangy sweet and sour sauce.. a classic dish and my kids fav. Highly recommended.💯

Chili green beans with pork mince is super yum! I think they have minced pickled mustard vege in it but wasn't sure as it wasn't in the menu description, must order nonetheless.

Overall we enjoyed our dinner and cleaned up all the plates, it isn't a big restaurant but a cosy place. Staff are super friendly and helpful, Service is 10/10 waited no time for our dishes to arrive. Check them out if you up for authentic...

I’ve been here a few times and the food and service quality go down drastically. I used to love the pork wonton soup here, but what I got recently was lack in flavour. The broth tasted like bland water with very little seasoning, which made me wonder if this broth is even a bone broth or just an instant broth!? My bowl had one sad bok choy leaf (yes, only one) and the wontons tasted even worse than supermarket wontons. I don’t know if they changed the chef or decided to cut cost for quality ingredients. Maybe both 🤷🏻‍♀️

Service was really slow and the the lady I talked with was rude. My food came out 10 mins after I ordered, but my friends’ food came out 45 mins after. Their slow cooked pork belly was again lack in flavour. Sad to say I can cook it better (and yes, my cooking skill is not that great 🙂).

If you are Asian or a fan of Asian/Chinese food or just simply looking for good food, this is not the place you should come. Definitely will not come back!

Edit just to say: they give discounts for whoever rated them on Google. I didn’t take the offer so I can write an honest review. Perhaps that explains the many “good” reviews on their page despite the abysmal food...

The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. The service wasn't very good, in fact the two young guys who were waiting the tables didn't seem like they were actually staff. Most of the time they were on their phones at the front counter, ignoring the customers, laughing between themselves. I figured it was a family joint and maybe the two sons got roped into doing front of house for the night even though they didn't want to.

Anyway. The tea is actually fantastic and real puer!!! If I go back I'll be asking to see it. What wasn't ideal was that we weren't given a proper tea cup (ceramic, etc) with it and the plastic water cup obviously didn't make the ripe puer taste as good as it could.

Dumplings - excellent. Pork buns - excellent.

It's a shame the service was lacking. I think I would actually like to go back here and give them another go, because the food was so good and honestly the service is what let them down for me. It's affordable and delicious and I want to get some good photos too.

It's worth noting the following:

they served their friends ahead of other customers. they give you 5% off for a 5* review OR...

Last Thursday we visited Songs Dumplings in South Melbourne for dinner. We got to try some of their dumplings and mains which were really scrumptious, definitely recommend their Xiao Long Bao too 😋 They have an extensive menu with a lot of options for a very reasonable price including rice, noodles, dumplings, mains and vegetarian dishes 🍜 This is the right place if you are looking for an affordable Chinese restaurant for lunch or dinner in the area, they are open 7 days for dine-in, takeaway and delivery! Featuring: 1️⃣ Sizziling Mongolian Beef 2️⃣ Sweet and Sour Chicken 3️⃣ Boiled Pork Dumplings 4️⃣ Pan Fried Chicken and Corn Dumplings 5️⃣ Pork Dumplings in Chilli Oil Sauce 6️⃣ Steamed Shanghai Xiao Long Bao
