Vibrant Mexican Dining Experience at South of the Wall Cremorne!!!
South of the Wall Cremorne exceeded all expectations and provided an unforgettable dining experience. This establishment is perfect for large groups, offering both decent food and fantastic vibes. The cactus taco was a delightful surprise, and the fried chicken is an absolute must-try. Additionally, the mocktail and spicy blood orange cocktail were both delicious choices.
The outdoor roofless space at South of the Wall is truly enchanting, creating a magical atmosphere for diners. The cocktails served here are divine, perfectly complementing the vibrant Mexican flavors. The burrito was a standout dish, bursting with authentic flavors that left me craving more. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the friendly, professional, and knowledgeable staff. Their impeccable service enhanced the overall dining experience.
As if the exceptional food and ambiance weren't enough, South of the Wall also offers incredible value, especially with the EatClub deal as explained by our friend who recommended this place. We enjoyed a whopping 35% off our bill! . With an array of delectable options including tacos, nachos, beers, and cocktails, this deal is unbeatable. The pork belly taco was a standout, while the fish, steak, and lamb options were all impressive in their own right.
Overall, South of the Wall Cremorne is a must-visit destination for Mexican cuisine lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike. Its convenient location near the train station (that is how we arrived) adds to its allure, making it the perfect spot for a memorable dining experience. I will definitely be returning for more flavorful tacos and tantalising cocktails in the...
Read moreI had a decent meal here as part of an office function and wanted to take my wife in the middle of an afternoon, because we were in the area. The Manager/Owner said the entire place was booked out until 2am, despite there being empty tables all over the place. When I pointed this out and politely asked if there was any way he could accommodate us so I could feed my two hungry children that I had brought along (a lot of other restaurants on the street were closed) he was unbelievably rude and said: Now I don’t want to serve you—Nah, you’re out.
He was either having a terrible day or must have had a problem with my race, because it was such an unexpectedly escalated and angry response, so out of the pale, I couldn’t explain it otherwise. Regardless, he should have been more professional, his behaviour was very distasteful.
Find another Mexican place, the food is just ok—not very authentic—it doesn’t warrant putting yourself in the hands of such management.
---edit response to manager's post: Clearly the manager is trying to cover up his shoddy behaviour with his gaslighting. Just read some of his other negative reviews, and you'll see a pattern. I never raised my voice, and was not ever angry. I certainly did not shout. The music in the restaurant was loud, so perhaps this caused the volume he misinterpreted? I could understand that the place may have been booked full, I only returned to ask if my kids could get a bite at the bar or order for take away, but was rudely asked to leave before I could get a word in edgewise. If I was anything, I was shocked---because I had never received treatment like this from any hospitality establishment...
Read moreAvoid if going in a large group. We had 24 people split into two long tables. We had a banquet to make it easy. However we still had a choice of main (burrito, bowl or 3 tacos). Those who chose tacos got to choose 3 individual tacos, which was great for variety.
We were there at 5.30pm. Starters took forever to come out. 3 plates of guac & corn chips on each table, so 4 people to share one, which was good value. This took 30mins post-order to come out.
Then the 2 shares & 2 smalls came out over an hour or so. We got 3 plates of fried chicken, nachos & fries - a lot of food, so good value. The last of those was corn - and each table only ended up getting 2 plates, so there wasn’t enough for everybody and this was the highlight of the starters, so it was unfortunate. Staff did not say anything when putting the plates down as well.
Mains came out at 7.45pm and some were incorrect!! My colleague waited till 8.15pm for her meal. I had prawns, lamb & pork belly tacos. I’ve never had such disappointing tacos before. They were under-dressed & dry. The pork was overcooked too. I ate half of mine & left the rest.
People started leaving even before dessert came out as they were so slow. 4 of us took churros to go as we paid for them, but the rest had already left, frustrated with the length of time it all took!
I would not go back or recommend to anybody as the food wasn’t good and...
