Bought a groupon for a Nepalese feast for two and went with my friend. It took almost forty minutes just for the entree to arrive! Samosas and beef 'kebabs', which were okay, bit dry. Then another 30 mins for the momos, which were small and didnt taste very fresh. We waited for what seemed like forever and were almost going to leave, when finally the mains, goat vindaloo with rice, came out. The curry and meat was almost tasteless, thoroughly underwhelming. The girl who served us didnt seem to understand basic English, and we were constantly reassured the food would arrive soon, but ended up taking AGES! Never waited so long for food. If the food was good it might've redeemed itself a bit, but no, it was very very ordinary.
For momos would recommend Wild Yak in Northcote, and Magic Momo Kafe in West Footscray. I have no idea why this place is rated so highly, maybe there's been a change of management recently, but by far the worst dining experience I've ever had...
Read moreI recently ordered momo and chicken biryani from this restaurant, and unfortunately, both were quite disappointing. First, the momo came with only six pieces, whereas a standard Nepalese serving should have at least ten and also in the picture there is more than 6 pieces. The momo sauce was also below expectations—lacking the authentic taste and depth of flavor that makes Nepalese momo special. The chicken biryani was another letdown. The chicken pieces were very few and diced so small that I could barely get any real bites. A good biryani should have a decent portion of well-seasoned, tender chicken, but this one fell short. Rather than focusing only on profits, I strongly urge the restaurant to improve quality and portion sizes to meet customer expectations. Hope to see better standards...
Read moreOne of the worst experience ever. Very un welcoming, unprofessional and unapologetic stafff. Food took exactly 2hrs to arrive after the order whereas the staff lied and said will arrive in 30 mins. There are lots of other nepali resturant but we choose the one not to have the worst experience. Otherwise we wouldn't choose this resturant where you need to pay 18$ for goat curry which turned out to be lamb. We would get the same curry in 9 $ but I guess we paid for the service.which we didn't get instead no sorry for the inconvenience was received from any staff member. Resturant spoiled our evening and my husband's birthday. Would never suggest anyone and never go back to such a unpleasant...
