The Little Banh Mi House — Restaurant in Melbourne

It's a small eatery with one row of counter bench seating facing outwards to the stall and 4 tables outside on the pavement. Outdoor dining can have its challenges in warm weather with European wasps and flies. However, that is just generally the case in most places. This day there were lots of pigeons who tried to help themselves to our food as well - we sat outside.. I had the banh mi with pork and chicken mix. The meat itself was okay but the dressing was not what I expected of Vietnamese cuisine. Would be nice with more greens and coriander. I did like the prawn spring rolls however. They were tasty and crispy and came with quite a few lettuce leaves and some herbs. The dipping sauce was okay. I would rate the prawn spring rolls a four out of five but the banh mi was more a three out of five. Street parking right in front is generally only 1 hour. But there is a larger car park area with 4P parking...

Master Roll Vietnam (Carnegie) is better! Was very disappointed by my most recent visit here. Bought 3 Grilled Chicken Vermicelli Salad Bowls for my family on the 12th of April at around 4.30pm. It was not made up to the usual quality. The vermicelli was placed to the side of the bowl with an extremely small portion of veggies/salad. And not much grilled chicken in them either. I came here from Murrumbeena to buy the bowls for my family that lives in Clyde North because this place has always prepared great food with a reasonable portion size for the price paid. Not sure about the food yet, 20 minutes and still waiting. They told me 15. But it’s choca full of people waiting and I can see that my order hasn’t even been started yet. If they showed a sense of urgency that would put me at ease, but they’re just chilling and dilly dallying. Looks like the rate limiting step is only 1 lady cutting up the meat and putting it in to finish the product. But she’s moving too slow bruh. Still here 30 minutes now. I went and asked what was happening and they pushed my order to the front, then only took them 30 seconds to make it. Final wait time 40 minutes. $10 for a crispy pork Bahn Mi and taste is pretty good. Would probably taste way better if I didn’t have to...
