This review is for manager of the loft for the customer service we experienced this morning. We have enjoyed the food and service for the last three weeks after navigating our cancer diagnosis and treatment but have had a few service encounters from same server which has prompted me to write this review. It goes without saying that patients/carers using the cafe are probably a little more precious than most with a degree of stress that puts them more on edge and in need of kindness m. I don’t expect to be fawned over but, at same time, I don’t expect attitude and rudeness. Getting a coffee is probably my only highlight at the moment on those mornings that I take my beloved to his chemotherapy and radiotherapy appointments. One of the female servers in the juice /coffee kiosk snapped at me to bring my coffee card to the “right side” of the servery. This was after walking between the two servery areas multiple times to get our items ordered/ toasted/ paid and picked up… I can see how you (the server) taking one step backwards is too troublesome for you. As, for me, walking the whole way around holding my two coffees, food is much easier. I would also like to mention that the stamp on my coffee card that should have been done when I paid right? Again, my fault? Of course, being told off like a naughty school girl for breaking one of “loft” rules made my morning much more delightful. You should be more aware of what issues your customers are going through and try to not add to the stress. I was polite, smile at you and do not need to be criticised. Show some compassion before you bark at your customers. Shame on you! You let Peter Mc and the rest of the...

To anyone reading this review will not like what you are about to read!!! The word FRESH in anyone's opinion or understanding will mean that the product you are buying and paying for is made that morning to be sold in the cafe the day it was made, however any product displayed in the sandwich display window on Saturday, Sunday and Monday have all been made on Friday morning they are then placed in a white tote box and placed in the cool room to be sold as fresh sandwiches for that unsuspecting customer that goes there on Saturday, Sunday and Monday and even go to the effort of bringing in all the unsold sandwiches, wraps, piadinis, bagels and all the other sandwich products from the other five cafes in various Melbourne locations owned by the same owner that owns The Loft. So next time you purchase any sandwich product on the weekend or Monday. Think about what you have just read, take this from someone that was working at The Loft and made the sandwiches for two years and was advised that no sandwich hand would be required on the weekend to make fresh sandwiches as it is much more profitable and cheaper to the Loft to save money on wages and customers would never know or find out when that sandwich was made. I was told never to discuss or tell anyone about this sort of deceitful and wrong trade practice and to top it off charging full prices for a food product that is three (3) days old and waiting for someone to potentially get food poisoning all for the sake of...

Just wanted to say how disgusted I am with the treatment of the staff at the who work at the loft.

My cousin, uncle & I went in yesterday last arvo, about 3:40pm(ish) we all ordered smoothies. The lady who served us was super RUDE - Like beyond rude, but it didn't stop there. Once our order was completed she yelled out "Next' whom was my cousin & she says 'I'm ok' storms off... At this point in time. we were the only people in the area. She made 1x juice - Yells out the order & proceeds to put it on the other side where there's a little bench. I didn't hear it, and went pardon, Another lady who just walked in says oh i think she said immunity juice. I said thank you. This than occurred with both other smoothies we ordered.

now I had been at Peter Mac since 8:30am that day with my cousin whom was doing Chemo & radiation all day. I get some people have a bad day, but really, no - You work at a cafe at a cancer clinic & you should honestly not work there if that's the attitude you have towards people. Rude. Arrogant. Really put a damper on already an average day. I would re-think your staff especially in an...

On the 7th floor of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Clinic. Interesting looking Café catering to staff, patients and visitors of the Hospital. Like the rest of the Hospital's public spaces it's Architecturally designed with interesting furniture, textures and colours. Great range of cakes etc, though nothing has prices on it so very confusing as a customer trying to decide what to buy. Great Coffee made by knowledgeable staff. Outside the Café on the 7th level is a park like area with sculptural features, grassed areas and seating. Stunning panoramic views of the city from a unique vantage point! It's worth coming here just to enjoy the views and great coffee! ....who would have thought a Café ön a hospital could become a tourist destination? The hospital itself is worth visiting both for its amazing curvy organic exterior, which is continued with the soaring internal void just inside the entrance.

I do often find myself getting coffee here at The Loft. However, the quality of the coffee is quite average. If you are after a nice coffee, go downstairs to Super8 (although they are sometimes busier and you may wait longer). As I am often in on Sunday, The Loft is sadly the only option open in the complex. It’s redeeming qualities are the amazing view you get from the terrace outside on a nice day (again, I would recommend getting your food from super8 downstairs and bringing it up 😎).

I work in the hospital precinct, and pretty much exclusively eat at the loft. They have the best coffee too. My recommendation is the tortellini. More affordable than zoukis, and people rarely realise how easy it is to access from the RMH, via the level 7 access bridge (just go to the B building.) The loft is always whee I recommend to patients and visitors, capped off with that incredible outside area for a breath of non-filtered fresh air.
