Me and my friends came and ordered iced coffees ($9 for honestly a very small cup and my matcha latte was pretty average tbh). The server that took our order said “in a takeaway cup?” My friend replied sure but we want to drink it here and she replied “but in a to go cup though, right?” We sat down anyway and by the way apart from like 5-6 tables with chairs, the rest of seating is like bench running along the back wall. I also ordered a ham and cheese brioche thing which looked like a pie, they just chucked it in the toaster and it was still cold in the middle and guess what, they brought it to where I was sitting IN A BROWN PAPER BAG, would you not think to switch it to a plate or something if you knew I was sitting at a table?? I don’t know if it’s because we arrived around 3pm and they close at 3:30 but we just didn’t feel welcome.

Honestly won’t be coming back, the three of us sat side by side on a bench along the back wall, and staff didn’t feel friendly (the one that took our order and brought the order to us). I do want to say there was an Asian/maybe Korean guy who I think was staff that opened the door for us and smiled when we walked in, appreciate the...

(Edited) Since the owner seemed confused about the review timeframe, here’s a quick explanation.

I visited this cafe a few weeks ago during my business trip to Melbourne, it was on a weekend afternoon, and I ordered the Tiger Bomb coffee. There were three female staff members working at the time.

Unfortunately, this visit happened to be on the last day of my trip, and the experience I had at this cafe left such a bad impression that I felt I had to leave a review.

Just to clarify, my review history isn’t limited to the day of or the day after a visit. ——————————————————————- I could go on about everything that happened but I’ll leave it. The coffee? It was great. But the attitude of the two female staff? Easily one of the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Honestly, I’ve never felt that humiliated by customer...

After hearing glowing reviews about Tone Coffee, I was eager to experience it firsthand. The café boasts a cozy and inviting atmosphere, complemented by friendly and attentive staff.

I ordered flat whites in both available sizes—small and large. The small was unexpectedly bitter, lacking the depth I anticipated, while the large felt diluted and lacked the robust flavor I enjoy. This inconsistency in taste between sizes was a bit disappointing.

Given the café’s reputation and the pleasant ambiance, I plan to return and try their dine-in option. Perhaps enjoying the coffee in-house will offer a different experience.

Tone Coffee has a lot to offer, and I’m hopeful that my next visit will align more closely with the high praise it...

1) Visited twice in one day. 2) Tried Panama Lerida Gesha, an oat latte, and a sip of "tiger bomb". 3) All three were solid, and delivering Panama gesha varieties around this price range in Melbourne, is impressive. Would visit again. 4) It is obvious that Caleb, the owner, really cares about Tone coffee. When he noticed I received a milk latte instead of an oat latte (dairy made me feel a tad unwell), not only he replaced it immediately but also accommodated our group's (admittedly a little unreasonable) request for a latte art. He kindly played along with lots of laughter. It is always an absolute pleasure to be at a cafe where the owner cares. His skills, love for Tone coffee and humility deserve recognition and support. Thank you Caleb.

I went to Tone Coffee at the weekend. Everything was really well presented. I started off with a flat white. It was made with the house blend and it was very good. Punchy flavour, smooth milk, and crispy presentation. Following the flat white, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with the signature drink. It was also really good. Creamy, sweet, full of flavour. So, it's so good on a hot day. It's very popular. The cafe is simple but well thought out. There's plenty of space and plenty of PowerPoints. For your phone, camera or laptop. Food and pastries look awesome. I only had the coffee, though. I'll be back again soon. In the meantime, check out my YouTube and Instagram #thehandthatbites
