So disappointed in this venue. I was waiting in line for the male bathroom when I was yelled at by staff for being in “the wrong bathroom”, (line for ladies was 15+ women long, only 1 person in line to use the male bathroom) after explaining the situation the bouncer didn’t care and threatened to physically remove me from the venue. I was very upset by this and when asked to be spoken to with respect (manners) the afro headed bouncer said that I didn’t “deserve it” before holding me by the upper arm and pushing me out of the bathroom, pulling me down the stairs and throwing me outside. I can acknowledge and respect the security guards have a stressful job and need to be on high alert for trouble makers, however I wasn’t starting any fights or doing anything wrong, only waiting to use the bathroom. Google states this venue is LGBQT+ friendly however when somebody femme looking is using the “male” bathroom, they are met with head on aggression… so much for being LGBQT+ friendly! You should be educated on these kinds of things - also you should have unisex bathrooms. The bouncer on the door is always friendly and respectful, and its such a shame this doesn’t continue through the venue, aren’t you meant to be a team? Being dragged down the stairs was one of the most embarrassing and unfair moments of my adult life, I tried to end the night with a handshake with the said security guard to show that there is no hard feelings and he refused. How do you think that made me feel? Myself and my friends have spent alot of money at the venue including food and to be treated in a way that made me feel unequal and small is absolutely sickening. I hope the manager reads this and efforts are made to fix this issue because I am still so upset. Myself and my friends will never come back to this venue after the way we were...
Read moreWe went to Lucky Coq after reading its reviews, we saw that there were already some reviews about racism but the owner had replied saying disciplinary action would be taken against that. Thinking that, we went there expecting racism would not be an issue but we were so wrong.
It was my birthday and i had invited a few friends with me to celebrate only to get declined at entry. The same tall bald guy with beard that everyone had mentioned before, he was there and told us we were too drunk to to enter, when we told him that we haven't even drank anything, then he saw people behind me and said its too many people, then again he changed his statement and said, oh there is a guest list and we had to be in the guestlist to enter. It was so clear that, it had nothing to do with any of the above reasons that he mentioned and only to do with us being brown in color.
The all culture inclusive club that the owner is mentioning that he is hoping to have, sorry to say it's not that club.
If you're white and or with white friends you can go and probably will have a good time as ive been there once before, but if all your friends belong to any racial color, then sorry to say but you have to find a...
Read moreWe went for trivia on a Wednesday night. We booked a table (3 technically) for 20, but only had 16 seats at our table reserved - it was a full house due to trivia. There is a $20 minimum for eftpos - and we were a little frustrated we needed to use the ATM just to buy a drink. When the food order came out, the runner asked who ordered the spinach and who the pumpkin, I raised my hand and said spinach and another raised their hand and said pumpkin. He came over and practically dropped our pizzas so the plates slid to the edge of the table and said, "It's not my job to remember the pizzas," and walked away. We could tell he was is a very sour mood, but please don't throw our pizzas? The pizzas were really bad, hard and dry. We were charged an extra dollar for vegan cheese (no substitutions) and only a sprinkle - barely - (think parmesan) was only on half of mine. It wasn't just mine, the rest of the table was the same. It was so busy we couldn't be bothered taking them back. The one star rating is for the quality of food, and the staff's attitude. We won't be...
