Absolutely love this place….. After hearing about “Revs” non-stop for the past few years I decided to give it a try late 2024, I have been at least once a week since. The bar staff work extremely well under pressure, especially through the late hours of the night or early hours of the morning and are super kind and courteous. The security are very professional and work very hard to ensure that the space is safe for all patrons and employees and deserve so much more credit from the public. Being open in the early evening as a Thai restaurant also, it’s definitely worth considering attending early to have a feed before you kick your night off as the Restaurant menu is absolutely to die for…. It is definitely a unique venue and offers an atmosphere that you will not find in any other establishment. All patrons are friendly and up for a chat and am glad to say I have made so many cool and funky friends in Revs. The music leaves me speechless every-time, and although I admit the genre may not be suited for everyone’s taste, you can’t deny that the Bass the sound systems produce is next level, you can feel it in your jugular. The Dj’s and performers read the room very well and prioritise your experience as a patron and put tons of effort into there sets. The resident Dj’s are also next level and over the years Revolver has produced some amazing Performers, it doesn’t matter what night you attend, weather it’s 3181 Thursdays (huge discounts for 3181 locals, traders, students and members + free entry for all), Revolver Fridays, Rise and shine from 7am on a Saturday morning, or the notorious Sunday recovery that runs all the way through until Monday morning, the set list is always guaranteed to keep the atmosphere fresh and alive. The revolver interior has a very Raw and grungy vibe which I think is one of things that makes the environment so remarkable, speaking obviously in my opinion, I see all these nightclubs competing to try and have the flashiest, high tech interiors, Revolver just exists in itself and remains one of the best effortlessly, which speaks a lot for what it has to offer as a community and venue. I am truly lost for words, on behalf of the Revs community Thankyou for the endless amounts of work that Management, promoters, security, bar staff, Dj’s and performers, cleaners, floor supervisors, Door and ticketing staff, booking agents, and anyone else that I’ve forgotten do for this venue to keep it fresh, safe, and an overall a...
Read moreI don't like to be discriminated. 2 hours ago (around midnight), at the entrance for a techno night, completely sober and approaching in a polite and respectful way, I shown my italian driving license ID [same dimension of credit card]. I NEVER had problems with that, and my same ID has been scanned by probably the same machine at the entrance of other places with no problems. The bouncer told me that he only accept australian IDs or, if from another country, passports because "the scanner doesn't record the picture well...". Other people has been allowed to enter with same ID with credit card dimension like mine. If it was true how a passport can fit in your scanner?
I think that's a very big excuse, so I said "is because of how I'm dressed?", he said no. Then I came back again with a picture of my passport in my mobile. The bouncer before me let enter a group of 5 Canadians [3 of them made screamed compliments for my dress] telling them "I'll make an exception for you, but next time bring the passport" and he didn't even scan their plastic IDs/credit card dimension . Then when he saw me I was trying to speak in a very polite and respectful way but he was talking above me without listening "I'm not gonna let you enter, I don't care about your picture [I tried to tell him that he can scan it], don't you think I already know it doesn't work? There are other people waiting. Go away". The attitude was really unpleasant and I felt discriminated for basically no reason.
I never had problems in clubs, I've always entered in any type of club in my life, I've never...

Young bouncer would not let me in on a slow week night, because I was by myself. He said that was their normal policy. I told him that I have been to many bars and nightclubs around the world, and I had never even ever heard of such a policy. He accused me of being drunk. I was 100% sober. An older bouncer let me in. Thanks, bros!!
From reading some other reviews about people who were also discriminated against, it makes me want to say what I actually felt at the time. I think it was because I'm American. Probably didn't help that I was 51 at the time. So, it could have been age discrimination or both!? They definitely checked my ID! No idea why carding someone who is 33 years past the legal drinking age of 18, is even necessary!
I've been a Bartender for 23 years! I've worked the Super Bowl in San Diego, Coachella Music Festival in California twice, at MSP airport, a casino, many hotels, 3 baseball stadiums, a football stadium, a basketball arena, golf tournaments, etc.
I would never even think about, or ever consider, discriminating against another human being because they are from a different country! That would be utterly...
