Turf Sports Bar in Melbourne is the go-to spot for anyone looking to catch a game, have a good meal, and enjoy a laid-back vibe. It's got everything you need for a solid night out: plenty of screens, decent grub, and a beer selection that won't disappoint.

Walking into Turf, you'll immediately notice it's all about sports. With TVs everywhere you look, you're guaranteed not to miss any of the action, no matter what sport you're into. It's the kind of place where you can rock up in your team's jersey, grab a seat, and feel right at home cheering with fellow fans.

The food here is exactly what you want from a sports bar. It's got all the classics covered – think burgers, wings, and nachos – all served up in generous portions to keep you fueled through the game. The menu might not be winning any gourmet awards, but it's satisfying, tasty, and just what you need when you're watching the game.

Drink-wise, Turf has got a solid lineup. Whether you're after a cold beer, a glass of wine, or something a bit stronger, they've got you covered. The selection is broad enough to keep everyone happy, with a few craft options thrown in for those looking to try something new.

The atmosphere at Turf is casual and friendly. It's the kind of place where you can hang out with your mates, enjoy the game, and not worry about anything else. The staff are down-to-earth and quick to serve up your next round, adding to the relaxed feel of the place.

Overall, Turf Sports Bar doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. It's a straightforward, no-fuss spot where the game is always on, the food is hearty, and the drinks keep coming. If you're looking for a chilled evening out or a place to catch the game with friends, Turf's got...

*I’m just updating this from 3 stars to 2 stars after we had a confirmed booking last night and they were not open. We missed the first quarter of the game finding a new venue.

I went to Turf Bar to watch the Dees and Cats game on Thursday night and it was a lot quieter than expected! The venue was actually really noisy given there weren’t a lot of people in there and it was difficult to hear the TV even though it was on at a good volume.

We found the crowd was quite aggressive (my friend included after a bad day) and one of the drunk/drugged up girls hit him across the back of the head to try and stir something up. She spent most of the rest of the game asleep straddling her boyfriend. There wasn’t one security guard that night, so that might be my improvement call out there.

The food tasted delicious, especially the chicken burger! A $20 special for a burger and chips doesn’t seem like a special to me, but I wouldn’t have paid the original $28ish for it. I added an $8 side bowl of vegetables which had about 5 vegetables in the bowl. It was almost half the price of the meal and I was very disappointed with it.

Beers were at a standard $14-$15 for a pint, but it was good of them to put a $10 special pint up there if you wanted to go cheaper.

On the whole, it’s alright to go and watch sport there if you don’t mind a bit of a rougher crowd and an...

Was a lovely Irish bar. Had little booths which were great. Unfortunately had a couple of digital card issues (isn't a fault on their end). After checking a different machine, trying closer to the terminal, using my partners digital card and testing a barmans physical card (it worked) we ended up paying in cash. The barmaid who served us was great and patient. One barman said that the issue was insufficient funds, which felt a little rude to say as prior to that we tried multiple times with the barmaid ie: (checking the accounts prior to that interaction as well as my partners) but other than that nice delicious Guinness and table service.

Response to owner: Not an issue at all. Still like the atmosphere, the tables and the sports on tv. Will definitely be coming back. I've seen plenty of eftpos machines not work. The cards we were trying to pay with were Digital and the one the barman used was physical, so definitely not your issue at all. I assumed digital was the issue. Just felt weird being told I didn't have enough money in my account 😅 Thanks for the experience...

I particularly love their steak night, as always. And also because this pub is close to where we live. I’m back here again on Monday for their steak night, oh so good😋 I ordered the porterhouse (with mushroom sauce) blue but as you can see, it was served rare - but still great😊 And I always consider this local pub as close to where I live because I’m referring to where we used to live on Lt Collins St just right across the street a stone’s throw away.
