Usually love this place and on another occasion would have a varied review... however last night (28/03 at around 11ish) we wanted a casual sit down and drink so we went to tyranny, at the door we where not greeted but rather aggressively told there was no place to sit and go (we could see tables and plenty of room). The young man working (who told us this) did so while smoking a cig and he had a pint of beer in his hand and on the table he was leaning on. He kept turning around and chatting to his mates and smoking and drinking in a nonchalant and incredibly rude manner while telling us (with zero ounce of apologies) that there was 'no where to sit'. Im sorry but as someone who also works in hospo - take some pride? Your On the job and you are rude to customers, smoking, ignoring customers and chatting to friends and drinking? The other workers near the entrance were all the same as if they themselves were on a night out and had zero care for anyone who walked in that door. Im all for fun and a nice cheeky workplace culture, but if I go somewhere I want to be treated with at least an ounce of respect.
Other times ive been here, similar situations have occurred. The FOH at the door are always preoccupied, talking to people, patting a dog, drinking, or doing anything BUT serving and helping us sit down.
However I would like to say the bar men are always so sweet and up for a nice chat while they make your drink.
Pretty disappointed, and honestly perplexed by the situation at the door last night. Laughable behaviour. I love this place usually but not a great taste in my mouth sadly after this treatment from staff.
Incredibly rude blokes and staff at the door. I can only infer management doesn’t care that their staff treat people with such disrespect and gross behaviour, from other reviews and many bad experiences here I can’t see why new people...

Read moreI recently visited a local pub with a friend and found it to be an intriguing blend of chaos and charm. The place was loud and bustling, a testament to its popularity and the vibrant atmosphere that greeted us upon entry. Despite the cacophony and crowd, there was a sense of fun in the air that made the experience enjoyable.
A standout feature of our visit was the pub's happy hour, an extended period that offered a fantastic range of drinks for just $5 each. This was a delightful surprise that not only added value to our evening but also allowed us to sample a variety of beverages without breaking the bank.
The pub's ambiance was eclectic, with an interior that provided both shelter and cooling, a much-appreciated respite from the outside world. This setup contributed to a comfortable environment where we could enjoy our drinks and conversation, albeit a bit louder than usual due to the surrounding din.
The staff at the pub were friendly and contributed positively to our overall experience. Despite the busyness, they managed to maintain a cheerful demeanor and were attentive to our needs, making us feel welcome and well taken care of.
In conclusion, while the noise level and crowded space might not be for everyone, the pub offers a fun and energetic atmosphere that's perfect for those looking to unwind in a lively setting. The extended happy hour with its affordable drink options, combined with the unique vibe and friendly service, makes this pub a great spot to visit with friends. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a casual night out where the mood is upbeat, and the drinks are...
