I stumbled upon Yellow Bird Cafe by chance one afternoon, and I'm so glad I did! This place has an amazing atmosphere, with friendly staff and a cool vibe. The food was absolutely delicious - I had the tenders and fries, and they were some of the best I've ever had. But what really made my experience special was Mitch, the bartender. He was so friendly and attentive, and he made the best margaritas I've ever tasted. I may have gone back a few times... okay, more than a few... and each time, Mitch greeted me with a smile and a perfectly crafted cocktail. I swear, I saw a little spark in his eye every time he handed me my drink. Maybe it was the tequila talking, but I think I might be falling for Mitch and his margaritas. I was recommended the nachos (which looked great) although I opted for the parma. I was thoroughly disappointed when the parma came out and the chicken used was the frozen (or pre crumbed) store bought processed rubbish. I know they can be picked up from supermarkets for less than $2 each (then resold for $20) but is it really all that hard to cut up a chicken breast and then crumb it? Extremely disappointed.

Two of the party had to leave early and were notified that they are unable to split bills under any circumstances. We notified them that the party had to pay credit and they continued to refuse. The young man (who claimed to be the manager) was rude and passive aggressive. We advised them that we would have to walk out without paying because there was no other option and that they were refusing our payment. Yellow Bird is a Windsor institution. Great atmosphere and tunes and a solid outdoor seating area. Staff are attentive and always checking in on how you’re doing. So full marks for service.

There’s a wide array of drinks that can’t be faulted. I’ve tried a few dishes here - most recently I tried the fish tacos. After reading some reviews I was expecting something pretty epic but unfortunately while still okay they were a bit of a let down. The soft shell tacos were made crispy, or hard whichever way you describe it and had been grilled with a pretty crazy amount of cheap cheese. Unfortunately this let down the rest of the quality ingredients on the taco as it overpowered everything else. Ordered a side of chilli chips and they were very over cooked. I call them chips as I’m not sure if any potato actually existed inside them post deep fry.
