I recently visited "Vege Tribe," a vegetarian restaurant located in Melbourne's CBD off Little Latrobe Street, with my partner. Upon entering the establishment at approximately 7:10 pm, we were greeted by an extremely friendly female waitress who provided us with excellent service throughout the evening. Although this was my first time at the restaurant, I was excited to try their one-bowl option, which allowed us to fill a single bowl with any of the available food options, and we both opted for an organic tea to accompany our meal.
While the restaurant's atmosphere was pleasant, with a large painting on one of the walls featuring a woman with a tree growing out of her head, my dining experience was marred by the temperature of the food. Despite the heating lights above the food, everything we selected was lukewarm, if not outright cold, which was a significant disappointment. Although the dishes were appropriately seasoned, the temperature detracted from their overall quality.
We sampled a range of dishes, including pizza, pasta, mock meat chicken butter curry, potatoes, vegetables, and more, but the food's lukewarm temperature was a severe letdown. Due to this issue, I would rate the restaurant a 2 out of 5 stars.
On my way out, a gentleman inquired about our dining experience, and I mentioned that while the food was tasty, it was served lukewarm. Instead of acknowledging the issue, he made excuses, which added to my disappointment.
Vege Tribe's hours of operation are from 11 am to 9 pm, seven days a week, with a range of service options available, including kerbside pickup, no-contact delivery, delivery, takeaway, and dine-in. The restaurant is also accessible for wheelchair users, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and seating. Additionally, they offer a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, healthy options, small plates, and vegan and...
Read moreI booked this place for my vegan friend's bday. We we were 1hr late (!) and the host was still accommodating and tried to make us (especially my friend) feel very special. The reserve card had my name on it and was a nice personal touch! I feel so grateful and my friend was extremely happy.
It is my first time (in a very long time) having a vegan meal. We opted for the buffet option and I took a bit of everything to try. We were advised that the menu is different everyday so everything is fresh for the day, which is great.
There were about 20 dishes on the menu from salads to dessert. I especially loved the pulao rice and butter chicken. The moroccan chicken tagine is also very yummy. They are flavourful, but not heavy and fatty like the usual real meat dishes.
They also had pasta salads on the menu, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. Ingredients felt very fresh, veggie salads were crispy. Each dish felt clean and I could tell the attention it received. It isnt just a whatever meatless pasta salad, if you know what I mean.
The chips were especially good. Another favourite of mine is the pumpkin mash, which goes well with sourdough bread pieces, in place of butter.
Desserts have choc brownies, panna cotta and fresh melon salad. I didn't try the brownies but the panna cotta was good. The restaurant also gave us a complimentary carrot cake for my friend's birthday. The cream made with coconut oil was yummy.
We also ordered fresh juices, 1 had carrot juice and the other 1 had orange juice as the main ingredients. I'm not sure what juicer they use but was very pleased that during the whole time, the juice did not separate. The recipes are not sweet either and I love it.
Overall, my friend and I had a reallh enjoyable dinner and we will definitely come back soon! Please keep up the...
Read moreThe best of best vegan curries have arrived in Melbourne @vegietribe which is a 100% vegan buffet style eatery, where you can either pay by weight starting from 8$ or you can go All You Can Eat for 28$ only.
I think @vegietribe is gonna change the scene about vegan food here in Melbourne in a way that vegan food can be immensely tastier, with so many varieties from so many cuisines like Indian, Italian, Asian, etc., than non vegan food.
We tried almost everything in the buffet. And the best part their menu keeps changing every day. The food is prepared fresh with only plant based ingredients and trust me, non vegans, you might just fall in love with their vegan food here.
The Indian curries, daals, (lentils), rice dishes were simply mind blowing and I’m obsessed. Being an Indian, I rarely go to an Indian restaurant in Melbourne but I think @vegietribe is where I’ll find the best and most yummy Indian curries ever and that too surprisingly zero spicy yet extremely flavourful.
The sushi, salads, pumpkin soup and the sweet potato mash were simply and truly divine. The tandoori pizza was a different level all together, so delicious. Even their fig date smoothie, lattes, everything is absolutely fantastic and refreshing to drink.
I couldn’t recommend @vegietribe to vegans more but non vegans go ahead and try their All You Can Eat buffet, you’ll get addicted to the taste of each and every buffet item.
Not only very pocket friendly their pay by weight and buffet are, but also very hygienic, fresh and are of...
