Ordered from here during the day off of Uber Eats. Unfortunately found this in my noodles upon eating, when chewing it felt and tasted of rubber, no taste so don’t think it’s beef but either way inedible (so chewy) and made me spit it out, whatever it is or however way it was prepared, it had no place being in any meal, absolutely disgusting and had two pieces of it in there. The food overall was bland as anything also before I encountered this. I understand Uber Eats may not be a priority but this is unacceptable, extremely disappointed.
Edit: I’m disappointed with the owners response to be honest. This may be a real ingredient, but it was genuinely inedible and it made me pull it out of my mouth it was so chewy, having eaten a lot of Chinese food (including eating in China) I’ve certainly never tried anything like this before. Also this doesn’t take away the rest of the meal was extremely bland and at a low quality that wasn’t cheap! I may not have known what black fungus is, but the food was still terrible and the owners response was very petty. Judging by multiple other reviews on here, it seems as though I’m not the only one who has experienced issues with the food when ordering online. If this is the standards they want to set for their food I think it is best...
Read moreEzzu looked after my daughter Sarah and I so well. We have been at Wok N Rock twice already in a week. Ezzu served us delicious, homemade dumplings and expertly rolled Peking duck and even warmed the pancakes a second time for the second half to ensure all could be served at the right temperature. Nothing was too much trouble. The rest of the staff followed his instructions quickly and thanks to his quick thinking, customer service orientation and amazing food, it is now our favourite go to place in Centre Rd, Bentleigh. Being opposite the bookshop and Nandos, it is very easy to find as well! Am recommending this restaurant for lunvh or dinner to anyone...but be quick....this secret will get out...it has only been open for three weeks and already it is full at...
Read moreWhat I really liked about the dishes here was that they weren't overly oily, and not overwhelmed by too much seasoning. The mixed veggies with tofu were cooked well, retaining a fresh crunch with each bite.
Even without the heavy-handed seasoning, the pipis with black bean sauce, and the ox tongue both had flavours that jumped out at us. The pungent black bean of the former, and the spicy kick from the chillies from the latter, made for a piquant and bold dish.
The shredded duck vermicelli was low on duck, but as were with the other dishes, was lifted up by skillful execution.
Service was polite and prompt. The extensive menu means that we missed out on ordering some dishes this time, so a few more return visit is definitely...
