I was recently appalled to discover that Midland Gate Baker's Delight will not allow me to pass over my own bread bag, rather than re-using a one use only plastic bag. I have been to numerous bakeries, and have never experienced this problem. In this day and age when some of us are trying to reduce the amount of plastic waste I find it truly poor form that your bakery will not allow my bag to be used. I was told that I could decant my bread myself once the loaf, in its plastic bag had been passed over to me. What is the point of this? A plastic bag is still being used and then discarded. If for some crazy reason you think there might be a contamination problem then why not offer a paper bag, at least I can burn this in my fireplace!!
Shame on you! I will ensure that I tell my friends and I will definitely be boycotting Baker's Delight stores - shame really as I like...
