Boba Bear Midland — Restaurant in Midland

This was my first time buying a bubble tea at this shop and was quite disappointed with the experience - I had been cheated of my money. I intended on ordering an original milk tea (regular $6.30). She put through my order and charged me. Upon reviewing my payment on my bank app, I had been charged $7.23 instead of $6.80. I queried the girl, calculating the total cost to be $6.80 (regular $6.30 tea + 50c for sago). The girl told me that she put through a large (when I had not stated what size I wanted) because "regular sizes are for children and most people drink large" - this was not stated to me that I would be receiving a LARGE size and therefore would be paying for this upsize. Second, there was apparently a surcharge for using your credit card - for which there were NO signs on the terminal, and I was not verbally made aware of this either. When questioned about the overcharge, the girl did not offer any remorse and instead told me that "the boss is going to change the menu as we have more flavours now". NO apology, or anything. Slowly trying different brands of boba tea. We always buy the same flavour as we’re not yet that adventurous to try something other than ‘brown sugar’. Boba Bear asks you your sweetness preference - something I’ve not realised was not an option. We chose the sweetest - 100%. The difference between Boba Bear and the 4 or so other Brown sugar boba teas I’ve tried at other stores?… this one was nowhere near as sweet as others, despite choosing 100% sweetness. You could actually taste the tea flavour too, whereby normally I can’t taste tea at all. Overall I was disappointed with the lack of sweetness and likely will keep trying elsewhere. Used to love this place, always had the best bubble tea in Midland and the best customer service, unfortunately went back for the first time in a few months, 2 weeks ago, same girl who used to serve with a smile and small conversation didn’t even give a hi or say anything as i ordered, just entered my order in to the till in silence and turned around to make it, went back yesterday and had the exact same service, and this time the tea didn’t taste good either, i ordered the peach rainbow nectar and the pearls were too hard and not chewy like they usually are.
