OMG go to Black Swan for the food, certainly NOT for the service. Wanted to give ZERO stars for the way we were treated Went there for a catchup coffee with a friend, she didn't know the place existed but after her visit said she would only go in to grab some goodies and not get charged for young girls with attitude be rude to her. The customers there were shaking g their heads in disbelief as well. Ordered a muffin wasn't given to me when I purchased,when I asked where my muffin was, sour girl flicked her head towards the counter, you need to know she was about 4 meters away from me and had no intention of moving away from the counter to do her job. Maybe it was too late in the day for her , it was 3pm and she was exhausted I know she can be nice to people because I watch her hug and kiss a boy that arrived at the cafe. So may be she could share some of the 'customer service', minus the hugs and kisses to the paying customers. Sad to see how bad customer service impacts ...

I recently decided to try their vanilla slice and sadly it was the worst vanilla slice I've ever tasted in my life (and I'm in my 50's). Firstly I couldn't even get a spoon through it, the icing was so thick and hard, the custard was like a hard set gel (more like rubber), and the pastry was tough. It didn't have good taste either, in fact it barely had any taste. It failed every aspect of what a vanilla slice should be. What a shame. I threw it in the bin where it belongs. I'd say it could win an award for the worst vanilla slice in Australia. From what I've noticed this is a bakery run by Australians... surely you should know how to make a good vanilla slice? It seems sadly not. Please review your recipe as this one you sell is an epic fail. I'll be sure to never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI keep going there because the quality of the food is excellent, and like a fool I keep hoping the service will get better, but it never does. The staff seem to have some aversion to clearing plates and wiping down tables. You could find a seat and there will be a pile of plates from the previous customers, your drinks will be delivered to you by a staff member who then carefully places them down in and around the dirty dishes and proceeds to leave them there. If you attempt to take the dirty dishes to the counter yourself you are ignored, so it's you who is rudely leaving them on their bench because you aren't aknowledged. The tables are dirty, the chairs are sticky, the cutlery and serviette tins are often empty. I don't think they realise they are in the service industry??...
