Vanilla Pod Food & Espresso Bar — Restaurant in New South Wales

Drinks came out super quick and were delicious. However, my partner and I ordered our meals at the same time, my partners food came immediately after the drinks which we thought was awesome and quick, but, I had to wait a FURTHER 25min for my food to arrive. By the time my food arrived my partner had well and truly finished his meal because it would've gone cold if he had waited any longer. Upon approaching the staff and asking whether my meal had actually been forgotten they advised their policy was to always serve sandwiches first which makes no sense to us as generally people eat out for the purpose of eating together. By the time my food arrived the poor timing and whole experience had ruined my appetite as the staff showed no understanding of the situation which just showed a lack of industry experience. We have been eating here for several years. It was good for a while but has "gone off". Today I stood in line behind two elderly lovely ladies to order our meal. The ladies were treated very rudely by a huge man who grunted at them so much so that the lady serving coffees had to interpret what he was saying. Their clientele is mostly older people so you think he would have been at least polite. He was not. My turn and I asked if the calamari was gluten free. It was GF on past menus, but the new menu has no GF options so I politely asked. He shrugged his shoulders and huffed! The lady making the coffees said "No, it isn't". We left without ordering. Completely disappointed after lunch here, we were greeted with a disgruntled look, caramel latte was cold and had not even a hint of caramel taste but the food was what stood out... After waiting twice as long as the couple that sat next to us 5 minutes into our wait I had a burnt, dry chicken schnitzel with chips that were just as well cooked, my wifes chicken and chorizo penne tasted like a watered down tomato sauce from a bottle with overcooked penne pasta.
