Sadly this is my first EVER one star review I've had to do but this is well deserved, a couple weeks ago I made an over the phone order for 1x Classico Calzone & 1x Capricciosa pizza. Was told it was a 30mins wait which was fine as it was a Friday night. Apon arrival we were told that the order was going to take another 30mins even tho we showed up 15mins later than the proposed time just in case, As we went to sit down and wait for food we were told that pick up order customers weren't allowed to sit down and so we had to stand up for the whole time and wait for food we ordered. After the order was completed we decided to drive down to the Newcastle waterfront and enjoy our lovely food together, much to our surprise opening our takeaway boxes we were greeted with a Calzone & Pizza so soggy and doughy that it was just swimming in its own grease. As I picked up my pizza all topping fell off like a slide at a kids park, to the benefit of the doubt I do understand that a pizza can do that sometimes so I picked up all the topping and threw it back on the pizza and took my first bite to then realise 100% that would be my last bite. The pizza was undercooked and everything tasted horrible, my partner's Calzone was stacked with half cooked ingredients and just the site of the dripping grease pulled us away from it. The worse part was when we went back and told them our thoughts on the pizza & Calzone we were met with rude replies saying that they couldn't give us any type of refund or even make us a new one because we took it away and didn't eat it here. When we tried to reason with the workers we were told to move on so that they can serve other people and weren't even given an apology by any means. My partner and I will never be back here and ill make sure my friends and family won't make the same...
Read moreHi, guys , I ate here with the folks today, to start off with the garlic cheese calzone was very nice.
I ordered the V.O.P pizza, I love a good traditional Margherita pizza. To start with the pizza dough was amazing, there was at times a bit of a burnt taste to the pizza, I am not sure if it's the flour that is used before pressing the pizza dough out, maybe that's what is getting burnt, not sure. The mozzarella cheese was cut in thick round circles and put on the pizza after pizza was cooked. I think the cheese was to thick, I think If its thick it would better to cut it into thinner slices and maybe in strips.
The mozzarella had not been drained which had caused the brine to eventually drain out onto the pizza. And plus if the cheese was to be put on after the pizza is cooked, it would have been better if the cheese had been out of the fridge and brought to room temperature before putting on the pizza. It was like biting into a hot pizza with cold cheese on top.
The dough was outstanding it was soft crunchy and light. The pizza sauce was nice.
My dad ordered the Pizza Della Nonna pizza, the pizza was very nice, however I feel that there could have been more meatballs on the pizza, there may have been a 2 or 3 slices that had a bit of meatball on it. We may as well have ordered a cheese pizza, don't get me wrong, It was a nice pizza, I am not one who likes having an overloaded amount of topping on a pizza but there simply was not enough in this case.
Please don't take any of this to heart, everyone was very nice and friendly, just giving you...

Whether you prefer classic margherita or something more adventurous like the prosciutto and rockets, every pizza here is crafted with care and attention to detail. You can really tell that the chefs here are passionate about pizza-making and use only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients.
While the food here is fantastic, I have to admit that the decor is a bit lacking. The restaurant itself is rather plain and could definitely use some sprucing up. However, the warm and welcoming atmosphere more than makes up for it. The staff here is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like a true dining experience.
All in all, this pizzeria is definitely one of the best in Australia - I'd even say it's in the top 3. If you're a fan of authentic, high-quality pizza, you simply can't go wrong with a visit here. Despite the decor, the food here is truly outstanding, and the friendly service makes it a great spot for a casual night out or a fun family dinner.
