Went for pre-valentines day / birthday celebrations with my partner and we had the best time. We booked for 11:30am for lunch and the atmosphere was quite at first and then got busier around 12-12:30pm. Our meals were great and reasonably priced, I was actually pleasantly shocked because we had ordered tapas/entrée, mains, deserts and 2 rounds of drinks - a whole meal for 2 for only $124 altogether. We had BBQ wings and pork belly, 2 chicken schnitzel meals, and the brownie and sticky date pudding desserts. The brownie was fantastic and generously portioned but beware, its extremely rich but the ice cream helps! The sticky date pudding and ice cream are the perfect, PERFECT, end to a full meal like ours. It was light and almost cake-like with the butterscotch sauce, not too sweet but sweet enough and again, generously portioned. Due to the warmer weather, the ice cream melted fairly quickly, not an issue. Staff were phenomenal, in good spirits and very polite. The view is very nice on a sunny day like it was for us on 13/02/25. We drove almost an hour to have lunch at The Dockyard and it was worth it! Absolutely eat here, this...

Had a terrible experience at The Dockyard last night, made a booking outside-arrived on time and was greeted by this rude, cranky man,who was unpleasant with us.My partner said our name and he directed us to our table which was in the sun,we asked if we could be put in a cooler spot and felt we were so…putting him out! After being seated my partner went to the bar and ordered us drinks and our meals and again this gentleman man was rude to him, hope he was not the Manager because he did not set a very good example-his staff all seemed ungappy and not wanting to be there, anyway that was my observation. Thankyou for spoiling our experience 👎👎 On a brighter note compliments to the chef, food was great! If the restaurant sees this review,I hope they address this situation,as you totally failed with your and I quote…. We pride ourselves on our delicious food, friendly staff, and a laid-back, warm vibe that makes everyone feel at home. THE BEST SERVICE NEWCASTLE HAS TO...

My 1St review for here was great but I thought I should update. We were regulars and last came in when there was still the old menu but a new chef. Our favourite sticky pork was not available so that aas a let down straight away and the rest of our food was tasteless . We let it go as a new chef was undertaking and old menu and that was also the excuse from the manager . So we thought we would give it another go and im sorry to say it will most likely be the last. My Oysters Kilpatrick were that drenched in a soup of bbq sauce that i found it hard to find them , the king prawn arancini wasbland with little to none prawn even in existance and our favourite, the sticky pork belly, was back but alot drier and than the lucious previous version. So alas im sorry to say this once favourite haunt of mine will no longer be a place to eat, still fine to drink and enjoy the view but what's that...

Cannot speak highly enough of Ben and the whole team at the Dockyard. It was my birthday and I had arranged dinner and drinks at honeysuckle social, that was a god awful experience and we got pushed out before we had even had dinner. The dockyard fit us in at a moments notice, with a huge table for our big group. The cocktails were delicious and came out super fast. The food was amazing, again we waited minimal time. The service was friendly, welcoming and attentive. The whole experience was 11/10. Will recommend dockyard to everyone! Especially for birthday parties and large groups 😃

Went to The Dockyard on 29 Dec 24 with interstate visitors as we have been there numerous times previously and rated the place. Unfortunately the experience wasn't as pleasant this time. Ordered our meals (lamb pizza and 3 burgers) and were told 20 minutes later that they were out of lamb and they had no bread for the burgers. Substituted our meals and we all were pretty disappointed with the quality of the food. Staff were eating and drinking and really didn't want to be there. Maybe an off day but definitely won't be going back until things improve. Avoid for the time being.
