A well designed cafe will walls of books, a chess set and a massive puzzle. However, while I was sitting down waiting for a large latte with honey, my name was called and so I walked up to collect my coffee (no table service). I was then told to go outside to an exterior window opening to collect the coffee. I then had to exit the cafe, collect the coffee, then re-enter the cafe where I had been sitting earlier. Terrible service. Furthermore, the latte (milk) was burned and tasteless, no taste of honey (not Australian honey, also the honey they had was imported and fake honey. The cafe needs to source reliable ingredients). A rustic wonderful feeling cafe but with terrible service, below average coffee, foriegn honey that may not be pure. I cannot award above 1 star based on this experience. Please do better.

Quaint is 100% the perfect way to describe the atmosphere of this cool little coffee shop. Perfectly situated on hunter street close to the city uni campus. I had a $2 stand up ristretto which was the perfect pick me up for a dreary winters day complimented by some authentic and real conversation with the barister and server. They serve "Nitro cold brew" on tap here which is creamy and light to taste wonderfully balanced by the acidity of the coffee with the Nitrogen assisted bubble finesse. You'd think you were drinking a coffee stout with only positive side effects.

For a booklover this is a must! Firstly the staff are super sweet and always greet with a smile. I was in Newcastle for a short period of time but I kept coming back for their dirty chai and I was obsessing over the croissant ham & cheese. I was a little embarrassed to browse thr shelves as its a busy little cafe and I didn't want disturb the patrons sitting enjoying their meals but no one seemed bothered. If anything they are more then obliging. I managed to grab a book, regrettably I should have grabbed more. If ever I'm in Newcastle again it will be my go-to.

I was ravenously hungry when I arrived and delighted when the young man told me the names of the toasted sandwiches. They were all named after famous artists etc. My toasted sandwich was delicious and the iced coffee was really good. A really lovely atmosphere for somewhere to go and read a book or have a little chat. Books from floor to ceiling and wooden tables and chairs. Reminded me a little of being at school but in a lovely way. The waiters were fun to talk to and looked after me well. I stayed for a poetry reading and open mic on Thursday evening. Great venue for this sort of thing. An excellent place to hide away and soak up some...

I decided to come in because I had no classes. At first I loved the beautiful setting inside, music, decor and all. After my order was taken by a lovely girl I went to go find my seat and wait for my food and tea. I get my toastie 30 minutes after sitting down and the same girl says my tea will be out shortly. They must’ve forgotten because I takes another hour or so and they still don’t come with my tea, I see other people who ordered tea get there’s before min. Utterly disappointed in their customer service. I left without getting my tea. Overall the toastie I had was lovely, a little burnt on the edge and dry. Do better next time...
