Worst experience ever first time in my life I have to post a bad review. I've been in Darwin for a while, tried few places never had a service as bad as tonight. The waitress was clearly tired and wanted to go home, she rushed everything ( even the basic manners ) we asked first the guy at the reception if it was to late to dine in, he said that it wasn't a problem. We had few questions so he kindly helped us, he said the Mango roll are delicious this year as they are in season and only available for a short period of time, so we ordered some. After a while a waitress came and told us that we couldn't get the Mango sushi as the sushi chef left early ( yep no sushi chef in a Japanese restaurant such a shame) she was so unprofessional rushing everything we asked. at the same time a groupe of 4 walked in at 8:30, they've been told no Sushi and you have to order quick as they are closing at 9pm, really poor customer service . I still had food in my mouth when she came and asked us to pay. please don't waste your time and monney there. ( oh I forgot 6 staffs were there and a lady called and waved 3-4 times to ask something, while everybody ignore her and were laughing in a open kitchen) if you don't want to stay open or don't want the customers money then please shut the place. Advice for the boss, recruit...
Read moreI’ve been to over a hundred ramen shops in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan, and the ramen here is an absolute disaster—truly terrible.
The soul of ramen is the soup, and just one sip of this soup makes it clear that it’s made from soup powder rather than simmered pork bones. It also leaves an extremely thirsty feeling after drinking, which suggests an excessive amount of MSG—already a bad sign. Next, the noodles—completely lacking the aroma of eggs, overly soft from soaking too long, and not chewy at all. It’s no different from cooking instant Nissin ramen from the supermarket at home. Then there’s the so-called “wagyu.” Seeing wagyu on the menu was initially exciting since most Japanese ramen comes with pork or chicken chashu. But this wagyu was a massive disappointment—tough, chewy, and lacking any beef aroma. It felt like a piece of boiled beef brisket that had just been taken out of a soup pot. After two bites, I couldn’t eat any more. The soft-boiled egg wasn’t runny, but at least it wasn’t fully cooked, so I guess that’s passable. I understand that this is Darwin, and I wouldn’t expect the ramen quality to match Japan’s, but when it’s worse than simply buying Nissin ramen and beef from the supermarket to cook at home, it’s really not...
Read moreNew review : 22/08/2024 this is my second or third time visiting ichi restaurant in darwin cbd. 🍣
this time, i ordered a seafood don (fresh seafood with rice). 🦐 it was a delightful assortment of fresh seafood like salmon, tuna, prawn, etc., served with sushi rice, fresh cucumber, salad, pickles, and soy sauce with wasabi on the side. 🥒🍣 it tasted incredibly fresh, flavourful, and amazing! 😋✨
i also ordered chicken katsu with rice, which came with miso soup, a vegetable spring roll, and salad. 🍗🥗 the chicken was so fresh and crispy, the sauce was delicious, and the miso soup was full of umami! 🍜🤤
we arrived just as they opened, so the food was delivered to our table really quickly. 🕒 the server was very nice and always smiling. 😊
highly recommend and will definitely return! thank you, guys! 🙌🍱
Review 2023 : Food is decent, place is cozy and staff are helpful. However I don’t know if my salmon is supposed to be look like that (it’s not bright orange) it’s still tasty though! I have 0 salmon knowledge, I might be wrong. Overall it’s worth the price and taste decent. The Wahyu skewer tasted weird and different than the one in...
