The worst experience I ever had in Darwin. First I have to say I made a mistake: I thought bbq pork was roast pork and ordered it. I quickly realized the problem, but I thought that since I ordered it, just eat it, should pay myself’s mistake. But after I took a bite of roast pork, I found that I couldn't stand it at all. The pork was very smelly, and the vegetables next to it were even tainted with flavor.

Another little episode. When I ordered the meal, I asked if there would be mashed potatoes in this dish. Today's protagonist (the bald manager) told me that there was no mashed potatoes, but vegetables, so I ordered an extra mashed potatoes. When the food came, I found that the vegetables he mentioned before actually included potatoes🥔. Excuse me? Yes, it’s not mashed potato, but why didn't you remind me?

After I finished my first bite, I decided to talk to the manager about changing my meal to today's special meal lamb shank ($20). I paid my meal $29. The manager said that you can change, but you have to pay for the replacement meal(with contemptuous smile). Excuse me? is can be say a change? Not a new purchase?

Later in the conversation, the manager told me that I have to pay my fault even if the food not good. But let me ask you, if the food is so terrible and the service attitude is so bad, why should I pay for it? So I asked for a refund, but the manager told me that I as a customer, I have no right to refund because the food tastes bad. Excuse me? You creat the Australian Consumer Law? luckily, I got my refund finally since I started act angry. Last question for manager: if I not a Asian Face, will you still treat me like that?

The following reply is in response to the owner reply to me, so which I can’t reply the owner directly don’t know why:

How ridiculous. I can't believe you as the owner of this restaurant can say something like this. First of all, when I order, I didn't point to the menu or the food and say what I want like you said. As you said, you haven't sold ribs for six months(that not the point of whole thing!!!), and I visited your restaurant nine months ago,I remember your restaurant serve pork something , so I even didn’t watch the menu, just said I wanna roast pork, I couldn’t even remember the meal name and said wrong thing, how did you make up the conversation that I asked the manager if there was BBQ pork and the manager said no???when I made order??? I realized I said wrong thing after I oder, then I just ask your stuff and knew the pork rib unavailable anymore. As I wrote at the beginning of my review that I named the food wrong caused I didn't get what I want, it’s really doesn’t matter and I am willing to pay for my mistakes. But the premise is that this food(roast pork) is at least not so unpalatable right?

Also, I did received $29 refund(cash). Since I ordered roast pork and a extra mashed potatoes, I can show a screenshot of my bank statement to prove I paid 29. You can't even figure out the specific amount of the refund to me, and you dare to talk about the whole thing as if you witnessed the whole process with your own eyes.

Regarding what I was talked about open a restaurant, what happened was your manager told me that customers have no right to get refund coz the food tastes bad. I said that I have also opened a restaurant, and I’m very sure customers have this right.

Let me tell you one last time what the whole point of what happened today is: 1.Regardless of whether I refunded or changed my meal, it was not because I ordered the wrong meal, but because the meal I ordered was very unpalatable and difficult to swallow. 2.I am dissatisfied with your Manager's service attitude because he didn’t provide the rights that customers should enjoy. 3.Now let me add one more thing, I'm not happy with you because as a restaurant owner you are blaming customers without knowing what the...

Showed up around 3pm on a busy Sunday afternoon as it was slowing down. Got in line paid for a Caesar Salad and Chilli Mussels, got a beer and sat down. 50 minutes went by and still no food, got up twice found a waiter and he said it was coming, it 's been busy and chefs did Chilli Prawns instead of mussels. OK well we said we wanted chilli mussels so he said another 5 minutes. After 50 minutes an overdressed Caesar Salad with an overcooked egg hit the table, it was terrible but we were starving at this point. The mussels never appeared and we said let's leave and went to find the waiter and get our money back. He kept apologising saying "it's been busy", well mate why do hospitality if you can't handle busy? He gave us the money back for the mussels but I said he should give us all the money back as the salad was pathetic. He did not do this. So lesson in hospitality he could have saved it all by reimbursing us for the whole experience and a honest apology or offered us a drink or anything. We know things happen we understand busy but the lack of professionalism here is daunting to a customer who is giving you our hard earned cash. And we don't want to hear lack of staff, etc you still take our money! This has been our worst eating experience in a very lack lustre environment with have no idea what "hospitality" means. Lesson here train your staff to deal with difficult situations, make amends try to keep your customers from writing these...

So, overall this place is substandard in terms of producing actual good food. I was severely disappointed in how the barra was cooked. It was grilled(which is what i wanted) however considering it was a busy night(Saturday) ,the barra was overcooked, BURNT AND DRY! the salad was basic, the chips were average(basic), i understand that paying 32.00 is okay, however you are suppose to expect something more for paying that price. I tried compensating the brittle taste with salt, pepper or my mates gravy, alas..nothing changes. What i can say though, is that the staff are friendly and serve in a professional manner. The bar attendants can serve you straight away (staffing is not an issue, only 2 or 3 minutes waiting in queue). The drinks prices are somewhat reasonable(considering the location) and there are usually waiters every 20 minutes whisking away your plates or glasses. What I'm disappointed in is that none of them ask, hows yours meal? Or is there anything we can improve on? But no... So the question is would you go here? Well only yes, if you cant be bothered walking down the waterfront for a feed or you live in those flashy apartments up top. I'm not going here again. To another place it is. Judge...

If you are visiting Darwin Waterfront a great place for a cold drink or meal is the Fiddlers Green Irish style pub. A large venue with outdoor undercover dining or inside restaurant area. Large well stocked bar nice cold beers. Order at counter food and drink get table number and meals are brought to your table. All sorts of seating options from booths to cafe and bar seating. The menu was varied with a mixed of traditional pub meals and more modern choices with daily specials. John had the special rump steak topped with half a crayfish chips and salad. I had chilli mussels both meals were well presented and very tasty. I love chilli mussels I order them a lot and these were the best I have had. The sauce was less soupy with a great amount of spice for me. The bowl was huge with more than enough Turkish bread to soak up that terrific sauce. great value the service was super friendly and attentive. A great atmosphere with fabulous music over sound system. Will return

Had I have posted a review following my first visit alone it would’ve been perhaps a 3, but considering both visits I can only give a 2. The first visit was for the breakfast which is pictured. It was OK. The eggs were awful, totally undercooked and slimy and with them being poached, when cut over toast they unleashed a pool of water and made the bread and plate soggy. The other elements of the breakfast were OK though but didn’t eat it due to them swimming in eggy liquids. The second visit was for their Sunday roast. It was really bad unfortunately. They said it was lamb but my partners plate had cracking? Mine didn’t, confusing. The Yorkshire pudding was a frozen store brought one and the potatoes tasted off. It was not a good meal at all - we didn’t finish either of those nor did I even take a photo. Won’t return for food I’m afraid! Only positives were the kind waiting staff and the location.
