Bandwagon is the ultimate in brunching, with free car parking straight out the front, and a spacious cafe with seating indoors and a lovely outdoor area which flows so well. Outdoor is split into 3 spaces, a patio out the back, a verandah on the front hidden behind blinds for privacy or a large rustic picnic table down the side with a kids alley, what more could you ask for on a Sunday morning?
That’s not to mention the menu, which is absolutely stunning, Australian dishes with a beautiful smoky flavour across all. From the Boston Baked Beans homemade with feta, eggs and sausage. The butter was divine with sundried tomato and dishes garnished for the final touch. A vegan plate with mushroom, tomato, caramelised onion and almonds on sourdough. A smoky flavour with a touch of heat moving into the cooler season. A hearty breakfast!
Brunches and lunches were made to be consumed in large amounts, given the generous portions that came out on our plates. If you’ve got a little bit of a sweet tooth (like us) you really can’t go past their almond croissants, and mixed berry & coconut muffins.
Of course, we couldn’t review a café without mentioning the coffee and chai.… and it’s what they pride themselves on. Single origin coffee was delicious & 9 spice chai with local honey just scrumptious.
We probably should mention that Bandwagon is a family friendly venture, with ample space and a children’s menu! Perfect for family weekend outings. Hopefully everyone will find their way down to this little gem for a hearty feed, with excellent service, local produce, and the best coffee we’ve had all week! The staff and owner are the nicest people you’ll meet at any cafe. So glad we visited this gem twice on this holiday! We’ll be back next time we pass...
Read moreMy Partner and I were super excited to try this place out after reading some great reviews. The atmosphere and decor of the cafe is beautiful. The coffee as well was exceptional and the menu looked like it had a really good range.
However, when we went to order, we were advised that they had run out of all their food except for the items listed in the "something small" section. Whilst we note that we got there just over an hour before they closed, we did find this hard to believe as the only real difference in ingredients, between a Bacon & Egg roll and the Eggs Benny we wanted, is the hollandaise sauce. It showed a sense of laziness to cook and rather that they had shut the kitchen up an hour before closure.
We then received our Bacon & Egg roll and could immediately tell that this was going to be awful. Considering there are only 3 ingredients (excluding bread and relish), we couldn't believe that all 3 were bad. Eggs and Bacon were over cooked, whilst the cheese could have been melted at least a little. It felt like they just had some left over bacon and eggs that were slapped in a bun rather than cooking it fresh. On a plus note, the hashbrown that I ordered separately was on point!
I'm sure on a day where the chefs had a bit more motivation, the food would be great but this was not the experience we were looking for and as this is my only experience, I would not recommend this...
Read moreNot a dog friendly cafe. Food was good, but arrive was average. I walked up and asked if I could sit out on the deck. Got told yes. Then another girl ran me down and was very hasty and then told me I wasn’t allowed there. The. I got shown to a very undesirable place to sit even though there was lots of seats that were outside and undercover. The uneducated staff then told me dogs aren’t allowed there as food is served. The law says they just can’t be where food is prepped eg inside. Which lead to her saying the owner doesn’t like dogs. If your not going to be dog friendly cafe you just need to educate the staff on how to manage it and still provide a inviting service
UPDATE TO THE RESPONSE there was no dog bowl or treats The seat I requested was on a outside deck NOT inside And as per the link you sent “pet dogs may be allowed in outdoor dining areas at the discretion of the business” It was you digression to not let me sit on the outside deck...
