The Corner Restaurant — Restaurant in Port Macquarie

After eating at some of the best restaurants in Port Macquarie I finally found one that I would not recommend to anyone...at all. As this was my wife's birthday I thought The Corner Restaurant was a reasonable choice with what looked like a good menu and wine selection. As a Friday night one would expect that a restaurant would have everything available on the menu. No oysters, no prawns, and no listed wine. The waitress did not read any of the specials. She neglected that we asked for sparkling water. The wine as mentioned was not available even though it's on the menu and not cheap. My lamb shank was covered in what I can only describe as tinned sauce and hard carrots. My wife's Black Angus Porterhouse steak was something I could have gotten for $10 at a cheap pub for lunch rather than $34 not that I mind paying for quality. The wine we did select turned up at the table with a "do you want me to pour the wine or do you want to do it yourself?". All the while the staff were spending more time chatting out the back then servicing waiting guests. While my wife did complain to the chef and owner after the what can only be describe as a disgusting meal and getting nothing but poor excuses for bad rubbish. I am spending my time writing this review so that should you have a choice of restaurant in Port Macquarie - choose another one. Go to the Stunned Mullet which is exceptional or Zebu Bar & Grill which is not bad. Even stop at Mike's Seafood before darkening The Corner Restaurant's door. Please Management don't try the usual and make poor excuses for bad staff and rubbish food...I have been to restaurants around the world and yours is by...

Had thee most banger of a Breakfast here this morning. I had the Breaky Wrap with bacon, scrambled eggs, baked beans and tomato relish which was flavourful and filling, that definitely hit the spot. I also got hash browns on the side and they were cooked to perfection (chefs kiss) crispy and hot. My partner got the Bacon & Egg Burger, I blinked and it disappeared, thats how good it was. He said it was good sized, egg still runny and the tomato relish went really well with it. A plus for me was that there was Campos coffee beans and I hadn’t had a good coffee in a few days so I really appreciated that coffee its was heaven in a cup.

Thank you so much to Dexter & Cory (correct me if I got those names wrong) for the lovely service this morning, and a special thanks to Dex for giving us some touristy things to do while we were in Port Macquarie, then on our way back half an hour or so later he gave us wave as we drove past.

Amazing service here, great food and drinks, fast and efficient would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Port Mac Thank you again, from another cafe staff...

Always superb food and service at this restaurant! The Chef's food is to die for! Cheesy Truffle Toast - WOW Wow Wow! is all I can say! Pork Belly Yum! Attended Friday 11 th July 2014 - the place was packed but I still received the most amazing service with a smile! Thanks Peter & Kathy Balodis - not to mentioned someone who must be employee of the month: Yanni! wow she just went and went and never stopped on providing service to everyone, every second of the night - did not miss a beat - I was just amazed watching them work as a well oiled team - talk about energiser bunny! (also farewell to the lovely Sarah - another great employee. Peter and Kathy you must be great managers, because only with great Management do you attract great staff!
