Bar Florian — Restaurant in Port Macquarie

Very disappointing. The menu consists of overpriced entrees, the pizza menu has 8 options and when they come out they are very small, not much bang for your buck. If you’re going to have a few options and small food with high prices you would make sure that you perfect your craft to make up for those factors, right? Apparently not. Now I’m no connoisseur or a picky eater, but it looked and tasted exactly like a McCains store bought pizza and it had a mayo sort of sauce on top that did not go with the rest of the toppings. Atmosphere was pretty nice and staff were friendly. I am from a large, multicultural city so I am used to great Italian food, so I will acknowledge that my expectations are probably higher than most and when I attended the restaurant it was fairly busy, which may cut a little slack for it not tasting great, but c’mon. Attended as a party of three after being recommended to this restaurant by locals! Being Italian we were keen to try their pizzas where we were disappointed unfortunately. We tried the Capri & Calabrese pizzas where the prawns had a slight funny taste to them no doubt to bring frozen! The cheese on the Calabrese pizza also tasted not right! Biggest let down was the pizza base! Definitely not a Italian pizza base even for northern Italian standards. Such a shame. Could have so much potential! Overall majority of wait staff were friendly but two young ladies had a little attitude which is not a place to have especially dealing with paid customers.

One of the few places open late on a Friday night!

It does get busy, given that it is one of the few places open till late, but we didn't have to wait at all for a table to fall vacant. They've got indoor and outdoor seating.

It's a nice cosy place with music playing in the background and the staff are friendly too!

We ended up ordering two pizzas and a Toblerone and pina colada cocktail. For the price you pay for the pizzas, they are pretty average, but have a lot of cheese. The cocktails on the other hand have a decent amount of alcohol in them.

Overall, the cocktails are good. And if they add a little more flavour to their pizzas, then I wouldn't mind paying that price on a Friday night.
