We, as a family, thought of spending the Mother's Day weekends in Port Macquarie. Being new to the place, we googled for places where to eat and LV's always pop up. We tried to go today, Mother's Day (13 May 2017) and saw that the place is packed. We stood there for like 15mins or so, as if invisible to your waitresses - bob cut brunette, petite chubby blonde in a pony hair and fake red-haired in a pony, lanky tall lady. All 3 ladies walked past us, my husband and I and our bub in a pram (we are Asian) as if we are invisible. Still we waited patiently and quietly. Then another lady (Caucasian) came in with her pram and was greeted right away (WE were NOT even greeted when we arrived) by fake red-haired lanky tall waitress of yours and endorsed her to another waitress (petite chubby blonde in a pony) and was seated in less than 5mins. LESS THAN 5mins! By this time, short haired bob cut brunette has (finally) seen us and asked us if we have reservations and we said 'no'. She then told us that it's a half an hour wait to be seated and that's when we said 'no thank you..' and left. Now, what do I want to say here.. I want to give the benefit of the doubt that the Caucasian woman with the pram who arrived after us have had reservations that's why they got seated right away. During the time that we've been waiting, I can't deny the possibility of discrimination there as we're the only Asians in the area and people don't care of us (at least your waitresses did that to us just now). If this was not the case, then certainly your waitresses need to learn basic courtesy to customers. A little bit of "hi! Hello! How are you? We're sorry but we are packed at the moment but we will get to you shortly", would be the best gesture for waiting customers. It's a shame that you MAY have the best food in the area but having hospitality staff NOT being hospitable and welcoming are such a let down and a game changer. We noticed that every cafes that are open today are packed but at least the next cafe we went to have the courtesy to welcome us and tell us that they will be with us shortly as it is a busy day. What a shame for your cafe to have such staffs. They don't deserve your name.. -...
Read moreWhat an absolute delight! Bloom in Port Macquarie is a culinary treasure that masterfully marries the vibrant flavours of Singaporean cuisine with the freshness and heartiness of Australian fare—each dish thoughtfully reimagined with a creative twist that genuinely surprised and delighted. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and attentive without being overbearing—a perfect balance. The setting is relaxed yet stylish, with just the right touch of charm. It’s the sort of place that invites you to linger. Now, the food—utterly divine. Every plate was a celebration of flavour. The laksa-inspired risotto was an inspired fusion: comforting, aromatic, and moreish. The chilli crab croquettes were crisp little parcels of joy, and the native herbs sprinkled throughout the menu added a clever nod to local Australian ingredients. What stood out most was the clear attention to detail—not only in presentation but in the way flavours were balanced. There’s a genuine passion here for food that’s both adventurous and deeply satisfying. It’s rare to find a spot that feels this fresh and exciting yet still so comforting. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Bloom is an absolute must. A top-notch experience that left us already planning our next...
Read moreFood was lovely, coffee was nice, customer service mediocre. Coffee took 20minutes and food came at around 30-35minutes, but it was okay as we were not in a rush.
$49.60 for 1 large cappuccino, king prawn pasta and hash benedict.
Came here with my husband, waiter was a little sarcastic and also told us 'would you mind telling us when you're being seated that you want a table outside next time?' when there clearly wasn't a table available outside until we were sat inside.
Waiter also did not acknowledge us for 5 minutes whilst we waiting outside for a table.
It was not until we walked inside toward the counter that we were 'told off', that we needed to stand outside and that you only order once you are assigned a table or for takeaway orders only.
Whilst we were lining up at the counter as well, we heard a lady customer infront complain about waiting 20-25 minutes for 1 coffee to which the waiter gave her the coffee and told her to have a great day without apologising or addressing her complaint, she walked away but appeared very displeased.
If you want lovely food and you're not in a rush to get anywhere this place would be suitable, but if you're after friendly accomodating staff and a relaxing/enjoyable experience, probably a stressful...
