Took the family out for dinner, choose copperwood due to its high review score! Well this isn't one. 24 dollars for 8 pieces of Squid, was the best dish of the night. Nice tender good start. 21 dollars for 5 chicken wings, what, is that all? The Jerk sauce was too sweet and lacked heat, put me off the 35 dollar jerk half chicken. My son in law ordered the full rack of pork ribs, these were by far the worst dish of the night. He didn't complian, but left half a rack, he never leaves did in the plate. So I tried them, dry, nit tender, burnt meat , not just the marinade, hard, smelt like burnt wood, disgusting flavour, inedible. The son in said the side was better but really! I ordered a medium t bone, the basting was sweet, I wish I knew that as, I don't like sweet and it didn't go with Cafe de Paris butter. To make matters worse it was medium-well, not enjoyable, dry in parts, with a well done thin filet, disappointing. I was going to send it back but my daughter was giving me hard time about it. (she has waited on people and advised that the chef's get angry at the wait staff so they have tough time from both sides). This probably explains why the son in law said nothing about 68 dollars of inedible ribs... my daughter had the Rib eye beef with reef, she asked for medium rate and was happy to get medium... my wife had fish and chips, the trout was over cooked with thick oily tempura, dry fish meat, and unpleasant, she actually fell ill later that night. We were to disappointed with dinner to try dessert.

Now I did explain this to Martin at the check out, and he did say We should have returned the problem dishes. I explained why I didn't, so he removed my t bone from the bill,a token gesture, we still spent nearly 300 with drinks after the discount.

The menu is broad enough to have something to suit everyone. The food was tasty, but very pricey when compared to other similar restaurants around town. We spent the same amount that we have previously spent at A Touch Of Salt. The service was great, prompt and friendly.

The cocktail list looked great, very innovative, with plenty of cocktails I'd not seen before. We shared an entrees, the trip of dips. The sour dough was amazing, perfectly toasted. The real star was the bettroot and mint dip. Very morish.

The 1/2 rack of ribs is ginormous - they are the full length ribs, not babybacks. The meat fell off the bone. The boerewors sausage was tasty, and a very chunky grind, which is traditional and unusual to find locally. Slight too heavily spiced though, but cooked well with no splitting. The eye fillet was nice, but slightly overcooked for medium-rare. The garlic mash is devine! The coleslaw is fine, not too much mayo. We ordered a side salad of rocket and parmesan, as the meats only come with one side. It was lovely, but too expensive for three ingredients.

The dessert options are solid, and I had ordered regret as soon as I saw another table get the chocolate mousse. The creme brulee was the perfect serving size, and was bruleed well. Plenty of sharp cracks were made! The affogato was nice enough. I really wish I ordered the mousse though!

The chairs and booth seating are comfy, and the tables are not too small. However it is VERY noisy and echoey inside. I loved the massive copper light feature, very cool. Parking is tricky, but it always is on...

After arriving on a busy Saturday waiting at the foyer entrance. We were eventually greeted by a busy waiter. He was so busy in-fact we're were abruptly asked if we had a reservation (we obviously did) then proceed to look me up and down like I had a stain on my shirt or something, and told me "were very busy ATM best you wait in the corner". I KID YOU NOT THOSE WERE HIS EXACT WORDS. This was 10min before our reservation we asked if we could get a drink from the bar. And his response was "you'll be served once your seated". As it was my sons Birthday and he chose this restaurant we did as we were instructed before being basically seated at Baskin and Robins pretty much as far away as possible. We said we'd booked inside to which we we're told sorry there's no room. We sat down in the heat outside and eventually were served. I ordered a round of drinks, before we all looked at each other and agreed, we're not going to stay here purely based off the attitude of the initial waiter and the follow up response. I went inside cancelled our drinks order and moved on l, my son was upset however we couldnt stay after the way we were treated. I'm sure to food is lovely we've heard many good things but this particular time it was a swing and a miss. Perhaps he was having a bad day and if that's the case I hope his day got better. We hope to try again one day and have my opinion changed in which case I'll look forward to...

I WOULD Not eat here again. For starters, the so called special sauce on the steak is literally the same flavour of Pizza Hut’s old barbecue sauce that was made to inace the pizza flavours. How do I know? It’s the same sauce they used to sell in stores before discontinuing it in early twenty-twenty. They use used it as a post bake on the megga meat pizzas. [ not currently used in stores any more] Next The steaks were wildly inconsistent—one was perfectly cooked, but the others were all over the place: one medium rare as requested another closer to rare/ blue Last one practically rare. The trio of dips was underwhelming and clashed with the oil and bread chosen flavors that could’ve been better from Coles. They did used the right flavours but it was just not it. Lastly salads tasted like they were drenched in lemon butter, which was disgusting. The only saving grace was the potato, which was decent. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Lately the quality has dropped or the experience depends on the chefs that night. Please see the images of how much was left on the plate.
